My drain is unclogged!!!! Yay! So, I've got laundry going now, and we'll check the dishwasher later. DH unplugged it because it was showing an error message that it was leaking, but I don't think it was leaking...I think it couldn't drain because of the drainage being blocked. So I'm betting it will work now. Fingers crossed, please!!!

DD had to call the Dutch equivalent of 911 today. She says it was a total butterfly effect. It was a nice day and they were out early, so she and her best friend decided to go through the park to get home instead of their usual route on the busy street. As they were leaving the park, they noticed some smoke and a glowing log. Dimphy said she heard a pop like firecrackers or something, but DD said she didn't hear it. Anyway, they stopped and tried to call me to ask what to do, but the sound on my phone doesn't work anymore (I still haven't set up my new one) so I didn't hear it. So they called Dimphy's mom and she told them to call 112 and while they were waiting for help to arrive, it turned into flames. The firetruck had to go around a different way because the footbridge is too narrow, but they got there and got the fire out. DD said she saw some teenage boys there right before they saw the smoke, so I'm betting they were lighting fireworks. DD said she's glad they went through the park instead of the street, even though it was kind of scary, and she was shocked at how many people just saw it and kept going instead of stopping to help or make sure everything was ok before the police/firemen got there. She was almost an hour late getting home from school, and hadn't eaten yet because she was getting out early and figured she'd eat at home. Poor girl was starving when she got home and had to wait to eat because the kitchen was ripped apart to fix the drainage.

In other news, one of my high school classmates posted a screenshot of a letter...her daughter was accepted to the College Program at Disney. She'll be doing something with merchandise. I told her to let me know where she'll be, as she'll just be finishing up when we're there next Summer. So that's pretty exciting that she got accepted.

How opposed are you to a solo trip? Just because HE doesn't want to go doesn't mean YOU can't. Even my hubby realizes that I won't be kept from Disney. He doesn't have to love it.
I'd love a week long solo trip but in my case it would be a week with the boys:banghead: Between James doing home school and my dh going between days and nights it's not going to happen anytime soon:(:(:( Part of the reason we did such a blow out trip was because we knew once James hit high school we'd be home bound for a few years with everybody's schedule

Your dd has a better head on her shoulders than most adults it seems.
Cool about your friend;s kid getting into the CP. I hope my kids do that one day.

Yes, DD is very mature for her age. And I'm very proud of her that when she didn't know what to do, the first thing she did was try to call an adult who could help. She's very responsible.
Yeah, I'd love for DD to do the college program, too. She loves Disney, so there's a chance!
