It was, the problem is.. the Taxi Mafia prevents the usage of Uber.
Considering that almost all the taxi companies (which actually are only 2 big ones and resellers) have an average of 1.2 score out of 5.. They sure abuse their position.
The place we were, was kinda far and at same time close (the problem was crossing the bay)

Well, you two certainly covered a lot of ground in the parks over the past few days, and had tons of fun! Safe trip home, and again, so glad the two of you could get away for an enjoyable vacation.

Yea! You're in Florida!! I like that sign--have only flown to Florida so I haven't seen that sign before. It's very cool, kind of retro looking.
Hope the weather cools down a bit though. Pace yourselves and take breaks into the A/C or the swimming pool at your hotel.

What you missed out on the Florida Welcome Station with it's cold, fresh OJ and Grapefruit Juice. Just a very short distance from where that Florida sign is located.ice. Almost as bad is missing out on all the South of the Border signs and the big sombrero.Yea! You're in Florida!! I like that sign--have only flown to Florida so I haven't seen that sign before. Are you kidding? I'm obsessed with that car. I can't imagine driving anything else. Yesterday, I walked past a Chevy Malibu, which was another car I was looking at, and I thought to myself "Nice looking car...I still prefer my Civic."
I'm even trying to talk my aunt, whose lease is expiring on her current vehicle, into it being her next vehicle; I had her sit in the driver's seat when she was up here. I have no regrets about buying that car. The only thing is that it's such a popular car that I see one that's identical to it at least once a day. I put a window sticker on in order to tell the difference between it and all the other Civics. Not that I blame anyone for picking it; it's marvelous. Oh, and my old car averaged maybe 17 mpg and I get about 34 mpg on average, and I love it. They advertise 42 highway mpg on it. If I'm on the highway, I get closer to 45. Not complaining. Although given that the 2018 Accord just had a round of recalls, and I was also looking at the Accord before deciding that the Civic was a better fit for me, I'm very glad I went with the Civic.

Ok day TWO Of Vancouver.
We didn't plan much on this day because it was my first exam. In this case.. the COMPTIA+ 901 basic exam.
So we woke up fairly early (it helps that there is a +2 hour difference, so waking up at 7 in Vancouver, felt for us like waking up at 9, so was perfect).
Then waited for my mom's friend who offered to drive us around (so nice of her!) and act as a tourist agent (which ironically she is lol )
Then I started to get worried because she didn't arrived.. then my mom tried to call her to no avail. She remembered also that her friend never picks up her phone while driving.
I was about to get a panicky and we started to look around for taxis. At the moment we had no idea how to call in Vancouver.
My AT&T phone worked like I was there in Vancouver, so no "dial out" of Mexico like we usually had to do before the merge of AT&T and our local provider in Mexico called IUSACEL.
Later we found we only needed to put the phone like it was an out of the province like dialing (so province + full phone) did the trick.

Anyway as we were going to move to pick up a taxi around. My mom's friends arrived in the nick of time.
There was little traffic so we went using the Lions's Gate bridge and then straight to a small buffet to eat as we were starving.
Arrived to the exam (both exams were in the same Exam tester company) on time.
It was a bit tricky at first to find where to and how to.
First time I took the stairs but next time I took the elevator.
Anyway there was no line to wait but a few people ready to do the same exam.
We had to drop everything, turn off phones, etc..etc. and put them in a locker (they take cheating very serious, theres cameras absolutely everywhere, they also forbid any text, and you have to block tatoos). So after getting ready, they check your papers, compare them to your passport, take your photo and you get called to a room full of desktop computers that have "privacy" like blinders on the sides and headphones for exams that needed it.
The exam was fairly easy. Most of the stuff there was memorizing stuff.
Passed the exam so we decided to go around visiting the Stanley Park (my mom used the time I was out to check the rotating restaurant on top of Vancouver's skyline)
We got a mini tour to check the Prospect peak, the giant trees and the history of the big storm that destroyed a ton of historical trees.
Downtown Vancouver and its surrounding areas changed so much in the 6+ years I have not visited. The entire place is now saturated with new apartment towers.. everywhere..
Older houses and small business being torn to build more towers.
Anyway, the Trip to Stanley park was neat. I always liked this place. Is full of tourists and visitors, also people love to bike and run around.
They were going to do a musical festival as well.
We also visited the famous 500+ year old tree that finally died after a storm.
Vancouver is definitively one of the most beautiful cities you can visit.. ever.. (as long there are no apocalyptic fires nearby lol )

We were generally lucky weather wise. It only rained in times we went doing much.
Like waiting for our friend to pick us up.. at night.. or during transportation.
It didn't rain in the times we were walking out, or in downtown before/after exams.
Which I am glad. We always have had very nice weather when we visit. The horrible stuff is always BEFORE (like losing a connection flight thanks to delays because of weather..) or after (rains hard when we are leaving.. it always rains regardless of what city I visit! like Houston too)

After we moved around, talked about history of the park, the whole spill. We had 2 choices.. either go to the Vancouver's Aquarium, or to go to Capilano suspension bridge park.
We decided to choose the second, because you can see Aquariums almost everywhere.
