Thank you for sharing your photos -- what a fun trip you're having!! It's so wonderful to get AWAY and just take in new sights, new sounds, etc. So happy for you and your family. Enjoy!!!
Tonight we fly out of Anchorage....then land in Seattle so we can wait around for our connecting flight back to Philadelphia. Not back home until Monday at 4:30pm :(

Oh that's fantastic news! How are they getting them out? They kept saying it wasn't safe and they were just bringing them food and a doctor because they had no idea how to get them out.
Last i read, they were drugging the kids and dragging them out. Driving them helps by preventing them from panicking or moving in unhelpful ways.

I heard 2 drivers for one kid but that could mean anything. I feel bad for the coach. You can bet that would be a lawsuit in the US.

That was a panoramic train that took us for 4.5 hours from Denali Park to Talkeetna....so we were half way to Anchorage when we got off the train.View attachment 294720

Sorry. That is a lot of travel time. Weather should be fine though.

I didn't hear that part about medicating them. What I have heard repeatedly today was that the expert diver in the front had an air line (oxygen) to the child tethered to him behind. Each one had his own oxygen, so they didn't have to worry about both breathing from one tank only. Behind the two of them was another expert diver just to make sure that the child was still ahead of him, and still tethered to the front diver.

(I'll keep an ear to the TV to see if they mention the medication part for the kids. Although I can understand the emotional benefit of doing that, I kinda wonder if it makes sense, because I'd think that the kids would need all the strength they could muster. You never know if the kid would have to swim or walk an additional distance, if something didn't go as planned.)

Anyway, I'm thrilled that 4 of these kids are out. Hearing that news earlier, just made my day. Hoping the best for the other nine, and also the safety of these brave and skilled rescue teams.

Try anything at Woody's Lunchbox?

No not yet, I had thought about the s’mores sandwich at breakfast today but by the time we finished the three Toy Story rides the line was long and I wasn’t that hungry. Maybe tomorrow morning.

I did find the grapefruit beer at Festival. Do you have one in your neck of the woods?

I might have to check Festival, I don’t often go there because the closest is 45 minutes away. But maybe if they had that beer I might make the effort.

How would you say SSD compares to SDMT?

slinky is much more fun than 7 Dwarfs and much more comfortable to ride.

O.k. You two are the first people (that I know) on the forum to ride it. So glad to hear that it was a really fun ride!! I like the design of it--so cute! Would you say that's it's maybe on a par with 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, in that it's more of a "family-friendly" coaster for all ages?

I would say they are both family friendly but Slinky has a bit more thrill. Brad says they are both thrilling because 7D has the swinging. The seats are more comfortable on Slinky overall especially for leg room.

Interesting observations. Yah, the seats in 7 Dwarfs aren't the most comfortable (and I don't have any issue fitting in them, or anything like that). I do like the swaying parts--those are a blast. Slinky sounds like something I'd enjoy equally as much a 7 Dwarfs, but then again, I love coasters!! :joyfull:

the leg room in the 7dmt is very short.. so that improvement is welcome.. except when you have small bags that can swing heavily in the front "bag".

I'm sorry I've been away the past couple of days. Had to pick up James from grandma's Wednesday because she had car trouble and from there I had the boys with no place we had to be except food shopping so we unplugged from the world:joyfull:. We hit a few farm markets, spent a bunch of time outdoors and caught up on a few movies. I'm going to try and ketchup tonight and tomorrow. THNX for your understanding

Almost over, I hope! Not really a pin cushion on this one. They have a thing called a PICC catheter. It's a tube that they run into my arm into a vain just above my elbow and the tube runs from there up my arm and shoulder through the vain and over to the center of my chest where the medicine is deposited into my bloodstream. It is painless and is just like plugging in a lamp. It takes an hour for each infusion, but, since I'm lazy I haven't been doing very much anyway so I'm not missing out on anything. It is a PITA however, for things like taking a shower and wrapping the IV site in plastic and taping it to my arm to make it water proof. The hard part is that I have to do that with just my left hand. My left hand does not take brain instructions easily.

I'm actually feeling fine, just tired of having to do this, but, with a blood infection one cannot really take chances so I am using every bit of my limited patience to get through this. Thank you for asking, I appreciate it.
A bit TMI but thank you for keeping us updated. Praying no news is good news. Get well soon xoxo
