Fun day today...!!! :)
We all (including my folks) went over to oldest DD and SonILs new place to help with yard work and other stuff around the house.
Visited for a time when we were finished, then decided to head to Jason's Deli for some lunch...!!! :hungry:

I also knocked off a few more items off my Christmas shopping list this is the only thing the boys know I got View attachment 294757
Now I just need to wait for the material to go on sale, then get busy
My oldest dd is in the process of sewing a tote bag. She sewed a top with the help of one sil last week. She is trying to do this on her own. She complains that the instructions are very vague. She also yipped a little when she got stuck with a pin. She has all the pieces cut, but somehow I think she will be waiting for sil to come back at the end of the month to continue.

Also, I started carving this bear many years ago, but, only got about, maybe, 2/3rds of the way done with it, and then put it on a shelf. Oldest DD saw it and loved it, so I told her it was hers. And, also, my pop made the wood clock right next to it for her...! :)

And, I actually did end up with a piece of the original "pink and green" Disney Store that I was a CM at for those 4+ years... :cautious:

image.jpeg

It used to be the topper for our old Store activity board before we got a new one.
It was going to be destroyed in the crusher out back like everything else at the Store was to be that was defective, broken, replaced, etc....nothing like that was to leave the Store, unless it was deemed satisfactory for donation. The crushing of said items was to be witnessed by a manager and at least one CM.
I went out with our manager to witness it's destruction. I made a comment about what a shame. She looked around and then said... "If you want it, get it to your car right now, and don't say a word to anyone!"
I took it, and then, oh so casually :cautious: :hilarious: walked it to my car about 25yds. away... :cyclops:
I gave it to oldest DD to use in her wedding, and they are now going to use it in granddaughters nursery...!!!!! :inlove:

And, finally...
When we got home, DWifey and myself decided to try and get a little of the yardwork we weren't able to get done yesterday, because of the rain, done today.
She got about 1/3 into her trimming, as I did my mowing, and then came the rain...!!!!! :hilarious:
Funny thing is, we did check the weather before we started because it was overcast. Nothing rainy near us at the time, but, once we got into it, it blew up...!!!!!
:joyfull:
No pouring rain, but, not light either.
DWifey was using an electric trimmer with a cord, so we made sure she retreated pretty quickly...!!! o_O;)
I, on the other hand, was not gonna' leave a 1/3rd mowed lawn...so, this is pretty much how it went for me...
"Just mowin' in the rain"...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious::)

Very amazing carvings! I am sure it took a lot of patience as well. It was sure nice if that manager to let you have the castle. Can’t believe they literally needed to destroy everything that was thrown out.

I am getting so creative. This was my dinner tonight. I have turned cauliflower pizza crust(cauliflower mixed with quinoa flour) into sandwich bread. It actually holds its shape. On it is hummus, avocado spread, tomato, onions, cucumbers, dill pickle relish, and spinach. Delicious and filling. :hungry:
