Speaking of Disneyland, what restaurants you guys and gals recommend there?

Are they similar to WDW's offers?

You're more limited in Disneyland, but I've got my list:

DL:
Cafe Orleans
Blue Bayou
Carnation Cafe (I like this one for breakfast as well)

DCA: Carthay Circle Theater

Outside the parks:
Naples (DTD)
Storytellers Cafe (Grand Californian)
Steakhouse 55 (Disneyland Hotel)

Seems like there was some important stuff talked about...sandwich chains and Tonga toast. So I must weigh in...

Sandwich chains: Subway is okay, we actually have one in my town. I like their meatball one. I used to like Quiznos and Scholotsky's Deli but I don't think they are around any more at least not around here. A coffee shop near us has amazing sandwiches the bread and special sauce is so good. Jimmy Johns is okay and I haven't tried those other ones you mentioned.

Tonga Toast: I do like bananas but I think Tonga toast is overrated. The inside was too mushy for me. Now the locco mocco at Kona Cafe, now that's some good stuff! It's a Hawaiian thing and I loved them in Hawaii. It is rice, hamburger patty, egg and gravy. Now that's the way to go!

For table service my favorites are:
At Disneyland:
Carnation Cafe (on Main Street) for all meals like breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Cafe Orleans, relaxing patio view of Rivers of America and known for monte cristos and pomme frites

At DCA: Carthay Circle I usually get the World of Color dining package and then pay extra to eat their signature biscuits that are stuffed with cheese ad bacon

At the resorts: Steakhouse 55...steak = :hungry:

I would say in general the food at Disneyland is better than WDW. The counter service is even better, the French Market is so good at Disneyland. Disneyland is a considered a locals park so if they want locals to eat there the food has to be special. At least that is theory.

The only 2 times we ever got the DDP was on our trips in the summer of '12 & '13. I was still a Disney Store CM at the time, so I got a 50% discount on it. It was the snack, CS, TS plan.
So, instead of about $60 per day per person, it was $30-ish. Just at every TS meal alone every night I ordered about a $30 entree.
Sooo darn much food though, and we had some unused snack credits both times. The only 2 times I ever thought the DDP was worth the price.
Before, and on the one trip since in Feb. of '16 for the Princess 5K, we have always paid OOP. Personally, I can skip breakfast. We would order 3 CS meals between the 5 of us to share for lunch, and we only had a coupla' TS ADRs per week-long trip.
We were always on the go and never wanting for food.
It's just not worth it to us without that discount anymore, or whether it's offered "free"...they still get you in the end, in other ways.

I think you just answered your own question as to what's the best value but my dh just added his own 2 cents and said SOG all the way even if it wound up 100 more. The only drawback we had was no direct bus after evening EMH from EPCOT.

I was pretty much in idle mode today at the office. The one partner who's project I was sketchin' on said... "Yep, that design looks great! CAD it up and we'll take a closer look at it in a coupla' hours." About an hour later I was ready for him to take a look at it and he was gone for the day...! :cyclops:
Just means it'll be an easy-breezy Monday mornin' in a coupla' days...!!! :happy:
