Everything on the menu is soooo good! Food and drinks. The Spiky Pineapple is like a Dole Whip, but straight from heaven ;). It’s completely different than the alcohol dole whip version at AK.

You have to sit out on the balcony though, right? Because of the kid? I think we might prefer somewhere air conditioned, but I did like their menu options a lot so I'll keep it in mind!

I will go to Target. I will buy Star Wars and leave. I will not wander aimlessly through and end up with a full shopping cart. And I shall repeat these words before I go.
My husband was going to go Target shopping yesterday, but he went Monday instead. So now I need to wait until our/his next Target visit to get the latest Star Wars movie. I am too cheap to spend my own money on the movie, and/or make a special trip just for one thing.

Seriously... again?

I'm also debating in replacing my old Surface Pro 2, and get one of the newer models.

Can anyone crazy or smart enough could confirm if we have a telepathic link a la Sense8?
Ha. I was actually thinking of getting a new Surface and having it replace my laptop and old Surface, but looking at the price tags of the model I would have to get in order to get all of the power I would want. Plus my current Surface is still in good condition.

I'm thinking of getting a Lenovo Yoga as my next laptop. They seem to be really good machines. My dad will also need a new computer, so I'm thinking I'll have him get a Thinkpad with a docking station. The ones we have at work wear like iron, and my mom and I are tired of him always calling us into his office to show us something on the desktop. He could pick it up and bring it to us. And stop borrowing our computers on vacation.

Pero sí, somos almas gemelas. 😜

But where I work (hospital) there are very bright, alarm lights that flash/pulse for the hearing impaired. (Also, it's a specifically timed flashing sequence, so not to affect epileptic patients, by the way.)

So there are both audible and vision alarms. Just wondering if that's not standard everywhere?
Yes, but I know cruise ships do not have them everywhere in the staff/crew areas, only in strategic places.
Also not inside the staterooms or sleeping quarters of the staff for the videos I've seen.
So you still depend on hearing when you're sleeping or inside your room.

Still, I'm pretty sure there are ways to use technology (like a portable alarm linked to the ships's system) to get the alarms in your room with flashing lights.

When I was a teenager running amusement rides at my summer job, a customer asked me: "Where's the head?" I said "on the neck". He got annoyed but at that point in my young life I had not yet learned that "the head" was a military man's term for the bathroom.
Edit:
Google attributes it to the Navy.
That man was an idiot if he expected everyone to know the military terms or specifically navy terms. :|

Thats something that saddened me of Microsoft.

They are using their new gained popularity to increase the price of the surface models to stupid apple levels.

I know. That's why I'm going with Lenovo. They've got good quality computers at way lower prices. I wish they would come out with something comparable to the Surface and drive the market prices down.

After having Android, I'm never going back to Apple.

I have looked at the YOGA series, but sadly.. they do not have the detachable keyboard to make it a tablet like the surface. and who knows how good the touch is. I can draw with my surface, a bit jittery because of the low processor power and high resolution. But works.

Unsure about the YOGA.

*edit*
Just looked at the other Lenovo like the Thinkpad, so expensive and so limited.
Other supposed "recommended" alternatives, do not even run the full windows, they are all ARM type processors (Snapdragon).

Oh, you wanted to work on a ship? I thought it was for an in office job. I would still think they would have accommodations for those that are hearing impaired since they will have passengers that are. I just don't mean accommodations as in sleeping quarters.

I think it is the patio next to Captain Cook's. It is a really nice spot.

You can sit inside, we prefer outside because of said ukulele player and the view. It never really feels hot there.. not even Labor Day weekend when the temps/humidity were crazy high. Like smallworld said, it’s next to Captain Cook’s outdoor area.. mostly covered and allows for a nice breeze.

Something to consider anyway, I love Kona as well..it just has less of a tropical atmosphere.

Depends on the machine. My work computer has the i5 processor, and it's a Thinkpad. Probably would have my Dad get the L480, which has the Intel processors. The Yoga I'm looking at has an i7 processor.

Definitely in the considerations!!

Ship based jobs are very varied, They do need support, accountants, managers, etc..

Land based jobs are out of reach for me, as they only hire americans, canadians and maybe some europeans from Western europe (England, France, Germany, Spain).

And the guests zones are one thing, they are forced to have accommodations and equipment for them.
Employee, Crew and Staff areas are a whole different animal. Including sleeping quarters. Which are supposed to be barebones.

Bagels all the way. We finally found a decent gf one at Aldis
Gluten free
Only 423 would think that everyone would know what gf stood for. At first I thought it meant good food, then I remember the things that she makes a habit of eating and forcing her family to eat and none of that can be identified as good food. I'm glad someone knew what it was.
