Well see, as I said a few ago.. I applied to Royal Caribbean for customer service areas. Lets see..

The recruiter says I was a special case, while my resume was pretty good.. the issue was still my hearing problem for security reasons.

I am really surprised (I should not be) that given BOG is a family restaurant in the most casual park, that Disney is going for BOG to be a Signature especially with their new Signature Dress Code being enforced. This is going to be interesting to watch as time goes on. Bet it will be spot on when Disney does their 'invite' for the bloggers.

It is spring break here. Spent sometime talking to a single Mom friend of mine today. They started their Spring Break by Driving to Southern IL to where her Ex husband is in Prison so her preteen DD could she her Father.
I can't even imagine. I'm annoyed 'cause it is cold out! The groundhog was spared today.

Tomorrow they leave for WDW. Thank Goodness!!! Silver Lining.

We all complain about one thing or another. But then you hear about a sad story like that, and it jolts you back into reality--that things in our own little world aren't exactly that bad after all. Feel sad for that preteen; but glad to hear that the mom is then taking her on a nice vacation afterwards.

Believe it or not, there is a resurgence for classic arcade games.

I also miss the arcade experience -- many people around the games having fun. Lots of energy. (To each his/her own, but playing a game on a home computer isn't the complete experience, as back in the days of the arcades.)

I always laugh when someone mentions this, in a very cynical way. Because he gets very pi**ed when I do not work or be available when im out of town.

I look at my adult kids. On our last short vacation the DS escaped being contacted by work, not so much my DD. The long trip before it was the man child. I feel badly for many of the youth of today not knowing what a vacation is.

I am inserting my opinion here without fact...it is a guess but both @FutureCEO and @StarWarsGirl are both launching their careers. My guess is their longer range goals are not to stay with these contract agencies long enough to be vested in long term retirement plans.

Usually these positions are for a year or so to build a resume in their field. Right now here in the US, the health insurance benefit is a really plus benefit for those not covered by parental policies any longer. Health insurance it a ticking timebomb for those trying to launch a career in their 20's so having benefits is awesome. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong as I said I am just guessing this isn't their long term plans.

I'm on the lookout for jobs already. Not applying to any but just on the lookout for them.

Yep, I've always heard their eyesight is darkness adjusted at night...they can't flick on a light switch or a flashlight , so the sudden change from dead darkness to sudden bright light stuns them.

Then you would think they would not want to be out at night. Dumb animals.

I never heard of a Tandy Computer. Our first desktop was a Gateway and it was in the 90's. We had a disk set up, dial up to aol. We eventually bought a cheap splitter so the desk top and my DD laptop could use the aol dial up at the same time. Mind you the phone didn't work if the dial up aol was in use. Beyond primitive by today's standards.

We were fancy and had two phone lines: one for calls and one dedicated to the computer.

When boys asked us for our number, we almost always gave them the computer line

Hell, they revived the original Nintendo system with original games in a much more compact way.

They sold out in mere hours.

Try telling that to my dh's job. The worst call came in the middle of the Muppets 3D. Maybe it wasn't so bad the rest of us got to see it twice
