I haven't heard anything about the chef but saw part of a menu on the Disney Blog. What gets me is when they first opened it was almost impossible to get into but everything was excellent. They can do it. The question is weather or not they choose to do so.:cautious: Time will tell if this winds up being a cash grab or not

It is somewhat working at LeCellier. But that venue is small. BOG I can't imagine the kitchen staff being able to stage to a Signature Level with that type of volume and be spot on. They can't be charging Signature prices and delivering a steak that isn't properly cooked and when they are preparing at that capacity I am skeptical. The draw in recent years with so many families for dinner is it is the only place to meet the Beast. If it is going to be a Signature the Food will have to be the star not the Beast. The current Chef can't get his menu/kitchen to be anywhere near consistent as a table service so I hope they are bringing in a well seasoned Signature Chef to launch BOG.

I am really surprised (I should not be) that given BOG is a family restaurant in the most casual park, that Disney is going for BOG to be a Signature especially with their new Signature Dress Code being enforced. This is going to be interesting to watch as time goes on. Bet it will be spot on when Disney does their 'invite' for the bloggers. ;)

but contractors do not give you long term benefits like retirement.. right?

I am inserting my opinion here without fact...it is a guess but both @FutureCEO and @StarWarsGirl are both launching their careers. My guess is their longer range goals are not to stay with these contract agencies long enough to be vested in long term retirement plans.

Usually these positions are for a year or so to build a resume in their field. Right now here in the US, the health insurance benefit is a really plus benefit for those not covered by parental policies any longer. Health insurance it a ticking timebomb for those trying to launch a career in their 20's so having benefits is awesome. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong as I said I am just guessing this isn't their long term plans.

Tomorrow they leave for WDW. Thank Goodness!!! Silver Lining.

My parents raised us atheist, but kept the tradition of new dresses and bonnets for Easter. I always loved my new Easter dresses and bonnets so I'm keeping that tradition for my daughter too. Here's hers for this weekend:

Unfortunately i let her pick out her own shoes and she chose black sparkly Easter shoes instead of white flowery ones :banghead::banghead:

That outfit is just beautiful. Hope you post a photo of her in it, she will be so dang pretty. My DD favorite dress up shoes were a pale pink sparkly dress shoe. Dang she loved those sparkly shoes. She still talks about them. :inlove:

Tetris was so addictive. Loved that game! Now I have no patience or time for video games.
Oh, I also loved Tetrus, too! :D
My family loved Tetrus, especially on their gameboys. Gameboys really made airline travel nice with young kids back in the 'ole days. I never liked video games in any era. I still want a real pinball machine. The closest I ever came to a hand held game that I like was a foot ball game and it had a line for each player. Some graphics huh?

Still have it. It still works.

A computer (arcade, etc.) game that I used to love back in the 80s and 90s was a classic: Pac-Man. It wouldn't cut it in today's world, but I just remembered my friends and I having laugh fests over that silly game! It was big fun at Happy Hour places, too.
Believe it or not, there is a resurgence for classic arcade games.

Hell, they revived the original Nintendo system with original games in a much more compact way.

They sold out in mere hours.

I always laugh when someone mentions this, in a very cynical way. Because he gets very pi**ed when I do not work or be available when im out of town.

Ugh. In some ways I had it easier. Cell phones along with laptops and tablets were very cost prohibited when I was your age for companies. Internet was crud. Look how long it took Disney to make it readily available to even guests without a cost and spotty access back in the day. Well after the new millennium and they did everything they could to not make cell phones usable.

I look at my adult kids. On our last short vacation the DS escaped being contacted by work, not so much my DD. The long trip before it was the man child. I feel badly for many of the youth of today not knowing what a vacation is.

My dad bought us a Tandy computer to use in the mid-80's. I remember that he had to "set it up" and it took him over a week, turns out he was playing the computer games on it before we had a chance to wreck it!:joyfull:

I remember playing Pitfall on it, that was a fun game.

I never heard of a Tandy Computer. Our first desktop was a Gateway and it was in the 90's. We had a disk set up, dial up to aol. We eventually bought a cheap splitter so the desk top and my DD laptop could use the aol dial up at the same time. Mind you the phone didn't work if the dial up aol was in use. Beyond primitive by today's standards. :cautious:

I used to love (and wasted all my allowances back then) playing the Michael Jackson's moonwalker game.

That thing was HARD!

Interesting. We had zero anything Michael Jackson while my kids grew up, nor was there any requests. My kids nor us adults had any love for
Capt. EO either at Epcot. The ying and yang of what grabs ya. We spent way too much time and Money at Disney with the TMNT's back in the same timeframe at Disney.
