Gotta love the finally found

Poor Jasmine. Every Pup I had was afraid of the vacuum besides Walt. He wanted to be vacuumed. He insisted.
No cat likes the vacuum, but Jasmine's the only one I've had that hides when the vacuum comes out. The others just hang out until the vacuum is in the same room, and then leave. Belle will go sniff the vacuum when it's off.

It's weird the things they're afraid of, though. We had a tabby, Moxie, who was afraid of brooms, of all things. He used to sneak out into the garage, hide under a car, and we'd get him out with a broom because he was petrified of brooms. Belle is afraid of squirt bottles. If I spray off the kitchen table, she runs. She's more afraid of squirt bottles than the vacuum. We don't use squirt bottles as a training method for either cat for that reason. Jasmine's fear is the vacuum. She'll usually go down to the basement if we're vacuuming and stay there until it's done. And that's just when she sees it come out of the closet.

Sci-Fi was getting a bad rap there for a while, but they've really improved. I go there every trip and can't remember the last time someone complained. They've got really good burgers, but I had a very good salad the last time I was there. Oh, and the spiked Oreo cookie milkshake. Yum. 😋

We gave Sci-Fi a try again for lunch in 2016, it had been a long long time. Mixed reviews from us. We had early ADR for lunch 1130am. Took over a half hour to seat us. And then there we sat and sat. Finally drink order...wait & wait. Someone else came with drinks and finally she comes and takes order and returns there is apple in the food my DD ordered but it was cooked so no problem. About 20 minutes later she comes back again and the chef has a concern she explains to me, I ask her to address my DD with the allergy, she is appalled with me. (hate when people talk around my adult children) this goes on and on but the Chef won't come out. Like you she is find with processed cooked apples. The lull time between all this was frustrating. The food was good but from the problems with ADRs and lack of Chef coming forward if he had questions we spent 1.45 on lunch. Not happening again for a while.

I do love how Disney is feeling the challenge by Uni and reacting. And Uni has accepted the challenge. I just noted the new resort opening this summer at Uni and the new one Disney is being built at the Coronado property.

Wait a sec, they are building a new hotel with different style next to coronado?
Or this is part of the expansion of Coronado?

I think that building is part of the expansion but likely more geared to the convention crowd???though I can't imagine how that ties in with the theme of the resort so my guess is they will have to landscape the heck out of it to separate it from the original. Maybe they'll build a wall, moderate guests this way, deluxe guests this way. Got me.

I'm wondering the same, it doesnt look anything remotely mexican. Just looks like a big apartment tower you see in Miami.

If they wanted to make it thematically, they should have copied the Pyramid hotels that are in Cancun and Costa Maya. (the Grand Oasis and Oasis Cancun)

Yes I agree. Tech wise with Uni they are leaps and bound ahead of Disney World with their security and I like everyone walks through the metal detector and everyone's belongings are x-rayed. While not likely state of the art it is better than randomly tapping someone to walk through a metal detector or how well each guard examines each bag. It is quick and orderly. Much better than the 45 minutes it took me to get inside Epcot in December. Crazy. So many people missing their FP's
Winner, winner chicken dinner. ^^^^^ X20

Maybe they are ok with the security but the vacation planning site stinks. I tried an hour or so ago to check and see how much a package (tickets and hotel) would cost for the 6 of us for a few days next May(2019) and I couldn't get a price. It said I didn't meet length of stay requirements. I kept making the stay longer, and I still got the same message. I guess you have to book ticket and hotel separately? I wasn't looking for a discount, just wanted a round about price.
You can only book UNI 365 days out. Just check the prices for this May and it will give you a rough idea what that is like.

Here are some pictures from my weekend with my niece. Friday night was just taco night and relaxing at home.

Saturday was breakfast at the bar in our town, The bar in our town serves excellent food and the breakfasts are excellent. Sorry no pictures of that, maybe another time for that. After breakfast we headed to the Mall of America. After I returned some clothes to Macy's our next stop was the Disney store.

Looks like they are releasing fancy Mickey's throughout the year. Here is this month's.

I love Tangled and the Tangled series. Flynn Rider/Eugene might be my cartoon boyfriend. I found this plush Eugene on clearance. Yes he came home with me.

We wandered around and found a seat in the big rotunda for the Chinese New Year celebration. It was fun to watch the dragon and some of the musical acts. I love that it is the year of the dog. But really for Kapono, every year is her year!

Then we went to the glow in the dark mini-golf. It had a rock and roll theme and was really fun. I came in last but I was the only one to get a hole in one!

We stopped at the cheese store and got some samples (yum!) and the Minnesota themed store still had this photo op up from the Super Bowl a couple weeks ago. This is a pretty popular phrase in this area, another appropriate one would have been Uf Da! That is a pretty popular Scandinavian American phrase in these parts! :)

We had lunch at Shake Shack and it was super yummy and so filling. We didn't end up eating dinner until late that night. THis is my bacon cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake.

After eating we stopped at the dough stand for cookie dough to eat later at home. And we headed home. Once home we chilled played games including the Oregon Trail card game. And just like we the old computer game we all got some sort of calamity and died before reaching Oregon. This morning I took my niece to church to listen to the visiting bell choir after making her Mickey waffles for breakfast and then we played some games before taking her home.

Once I got back home I hubs and I relaxed and then he talked me into going to see Black Panther. I'm glad I went it was really enjoyable. But I never got my nap so I think I will be sleeping well tonight. Oh and we have snow and ice on the agenda for tomorrow. And I think I'm coming down with a little bug, sometimes I feel great sometimes I feel icky. If I'm going to be sick, I wish it would just come already. Or if not go away.

Those are fun pictures!! So glad you and your niece had a good time! (The glow-in-the-dark minigolf is something I'd love to play!) :joyfull:

I just had a ridiculous conversation with my father

Him: Here, sign this
*tax form*
Me: You did my taxes?
Him: Yes, so now just sign.
Me: Okay, no, you're going to talk me through exactly how you did this
Him: Why?
Me: Why? Because someday I'll be 30, and by then, I refuse to have a business degree, six credit hours of accounting, six credit hours of finance, and two years of tutoring in accounting under my belt and have my daddy doing my taxes for me.
Him: But it's just easier if I do it for you.
Me:

He never did talk me through it because he said Maryland is changing all of their forms, so he may as well show me next year. Also, why did they not teach us this stuff in school?
It could be worse I did all my parents taxes by your age:cautious:

Google got into a lawsuit against getty because google used to link directly to images, its not allowed anymore in their settlement.
You can still get addons for firefox or extensions for chrome that gets this ability back.

Thanks for information from you and from @wdwfan4ver (the article he shared with me), I read that if you go to Bing, you can still copy and paste. I just did it this morning and it works. Here is a nice picture for the both of you!!

U
We Uber'd to Universal for the day in 2016 from POR to Universal Security entry point. It was about $15 for the 3 of us. You can order a Mears van $21 per person (age 12+) $16 under 12 a per person charge or towncar. Our towncar from airport to Wilderness Lodge is was $120 one way. Taxi one way is $35. If you are moving luggage you are going to likely need a minivan or SUV which will add around $15 to Uber or Taxi. You can also order and pick up a rent a car from most deluxe resorts and I believe swan dolphin and drive it to your hotel at Universal, just check which rental company is at both WDW and Uni. That way it would only be a one day rental. Uni unless new doesn't do airport pick ups. WDW would uses Mears as their Official Taxi, Uni also has an offical taxi for their resorts and it is not Mears that can take you to the airport. Both at the resorts use official taxis to avoid the gypsy taxi problems. At both resorts a bellman will call one forward as they must stage out in their lots and only the offical taxi are allowed to be at the resort hotels.

Can you tell I've done just about every choice over the last 30 years? Me I don't like driving Orlando so my choice would be

1. Lyft or Mears
2. Taxi
3. Towncar
4. Rental Car
5. Mears van
We've never had a problem driving in the Orlando area. That being said we've found staying off the main roads at rush hour the way to go.
