Sympathy like.
Truth be known, Austin is pretty darn diverse, and we have no problem with that...we're all different...who cares...?!?!?!
Just love each other people...what's so hard about that...?????!!!!!!! :joyfull::happy:

Nothing wrong with being diverse at all. In our area we just don't have much, a little sprinkling I guess. But that's why I like to travel and even just go into the city to experience lots of new stuff. :)

I'm not really sure....I don't want DS to see spoilers and he hasn't seen the last 3 movies and is on book 3, so it may be a while. I also want to take them to WWoHP at Universal in Florida on our next trip, but London is a LOT closer and cheaper to get there. So I wouldn't really need to take much time off of work. We could just do a long weekend and only take 2-3 days off work. It would have to be in a school vacation. We're planning to go visit friends in Germany in the May vacation this year, so it probably won't be really soon, but I'm thinking about that. Also thinking about transportation between Disney and Universal since DME won't take us to Universal and I don't think Universal has a shuttle to the airport, but DH refuses to Uber or Lyft and he won't want to rent a car for 3 weeks if we're staying on property. I guess we'll see how it works out. Mostly I'm just thinking ahead because I'm super excited that my kids are finally Potterheads.
U
We Uber'd to Universal for the day in 2016 from POR to Universal Security entry point. It was about $15 for the 3 of us. You can order a Mears van $21 per person (age 12+) $16 under 12 a per person charge or towncar. Our towncar from airport to Wilderness Lodge is was $120 one way. Taxi one way is $35. If you are moving luggage you are going to likely need a minivan or SUV which will add around $15 to Uber or Taxi. You can also order and pick up a rent a car from most deluxe resorts and I believe swan dolphin and drive it to your hotel at Universal, just check which rental company is at both WDW and Uni. That way it would only be a one day rental. Uni unless new doesn't do airport pick ups. WDW would uses Mears as their Official Taxi, Uni also has an offical taxi for their resorts and it is not Mears that can take you to the airport. Both at the resorts use official taxis to avoid the gypsy taxi problems. At both resorts a bellman will call one forward as they must stage out in their lots and only the offical taxi are allowed to be at the resort hotels.

Can you tell I've done just about every choice over the last 30 years? Me I don't like driving Orlando so my choice would be

1. Lyft or Mears
2. Taxi
3. Towncar
4. Rental Car
5. Mears van

Here are some pictures from my weekend with my niece. Friday night was just taco night and relaxing at home.

Saturday was breakfast at the bar in our town, The bar in our town serves excellent food and the breakfasts are excellent. Sorry no pictures of that, maybe another time for that. After breakfast we headed to the Mall of America. After I returned some clothes to Macy's our next stop was the Disney store.

Looks like they are releasing fancy Mickey's throughout the year. Here is this month's.

I love Tangled and the Tangled series. Flynn Rider/Eugene might be my cartoon boyfriend. I found this plush Eugene on clearance. Yes he came home with me.
IMG_1287.JPG

We wandered around and found a seat in the big rotunda for the Chinese New Year celebration. It was fun to watch the dragon and some of the musical acts. I love that it is the year of the dog. But really for Kapono, every year is her year!

Then we went to the glow in the dark mini-golf. It had a rock and roll theme and was really fun. I came in last but I was the only one to get a hole in one!

Here's a blur of hubs in motion and the backside of niece golfing. This i the hole I got the hole in one.

We stopped at the cheese store and got some samples (yum!) and the Minnesota themed store still had this photo op up from the Super Bowl a couple weeks ago. This is a pretty popular phrase in this area, another appropriate one would have been Uf Da! That is a pretty popular Scandinavian American phrase in these parts! :)

We had lunch at Shake Shack and it was super yummy and so filling. We didn't end up eating dinner until late that night. THis is my bacon cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake.
IMG_1316.JPG

After eating we stopped at the dough stand for cookie dough to eat later at home. And we headed home. Once home we chilled played games including the Oregon Trail card game. And just like we the old computer game we all got some sort of calamity and died before reaching Oregon. This morning I took my niece to church to listen to the visiting bell choir after making her Mickey waffles for breakfast and then we played some games before taking her home.

Once I got back home I hubs and I relaxed and then he talked me into going to see Black Panther. I'm glad I went it was really enjoyable. But I never got my nap so I think I will be sleeping well tonight. Oh and we have snow and ice on the agenda for tomorrow. And I think I'm coming down with a little bug, sometimes I feel great sometimes I feel icky. If I'm going to be sick, I wish it would just come already. Or if not go away.

I keep looking at the weather report and freaking out. I have seen totals of rain through Tuesday from a doable 1.5 inches to just over 3. Frozen ground. All the snow isn't melted. I hate to say it, but I think I would feel better about this if it were snow instead. (Enjoy that @MinnieM123 and @Mr Ferret 88 . You know it is bad when I say something like that.)

I'm still hearing ice in the gutters knocking loose and or crashing down. I'm not even sure all the sewers are clear but if it is pouring and is 60 all those snow mounds are going to be melting at a faster rate too...so both snow and rain hitting the sewers at same time. The hour by hour has 90% rain for 48 hours then freezing temps overnight Tuesday so we should have skating ponds everywhere Joy Joy.

Oh, thank you Minnie!!!!! :joyfull:
Our number is... 555-555-5555... :cyclops:

:hilarious: 😉
You know, these random phone jokes reminds me of a famous story about a marketer for an university.
He got his surprise of his life when the machine that assigned phones, gave him a very special phone to call..
The call was uneventful and he was doing his marketing spill. The man in the other side told him to stop for a second and started to ask the marketer questions on how he got the phone #.

Turns out the machine had spit the number of the commanding officer of the pentagon and no normal person should have been able to call that phone #. Because nobody outside the top security and accepted phone lines should be able to call that number.

Suffice to say.. Pentagon officials ended investigating the person and even replacing the phone number assigner machine :hilarious:

Another similar story was when there were "doomsday" phones assigned in phone central companies and other critical areas for when a strike happens. If you get called you have to follow the instructions and so on..
Nobody expected that thing to ring ever.
Until it did.. Everyone in that company (from the person of the story) was terrified. When they picked up the phone, it was a random person asking for pizza.
Turns out the government made a mistake and the phone # of the emergency phone was disconnected and repurchased. Supposedly assigned to a pizza store nearby. :hilarious:

They recommend putting newborns on their backs there? Weird...here, they tell you to put them on their sides and teach you to brace them with a towel so they can't roll over on their backs, and every time you feed them and lay them back down, you switch sides.
You'd be a bad Mamma here ;) or until they change the rules again next decade. No side, and absolutely no towels or blankets.

He never did talk me through it because he said Maryland is changing all of their forms, so he may as well show me next year. Also, why did they not teach us this stuff in school?

I always wonder the same.

But then, in my country you're forced to use "public accountants" by the government. The same way they use specified companies for making lettering, contracts and land based stuff.

Its like the government in my country wanted to give these people forced jobs.. but in turn made them impossible to dodge and their dirty money grabs.

Oh Dear. Well I guess nobody has to be concerned about passing the virus. Be well...all of ya. Is your coughing scaring the kitties?
Nope. Belle comes and lays on my chest if I'm coughing too much. She thinks whenever I'm sick that it's her job to make me feel better. She went and did the same thing for my mom today too. And Jasmine pretty much follows Belle's example, so if Belle acts like it's no big deal, Jasmine does too. She's not even afraid of my nebulizer, although she doesn't like the smell of the stuff. Belle doesn't care, but our boys were also that way.

The exception is the vacuum. Belle will get out of the room when we vacuum, but never rushes. Jasmine goes and hides in another part of the house. Pretty much the only thing that cat is afraid of. She's not even afraid of the vet. But the vacuum is terrifying.

Poor Jasmine. Every Pup I had was afraid of the vacuum besides Walt. He wanted to be vacuumed. He insisted.

Well, I just made an ADR for Sci-Fi. Looks like everyone can eat there without a problem. They have a falafel burger and for $14 that seems reasonable for Disney.
Sci-Fi was getting a bad rap there for a while, but they've really improved. I go there every trip and can't remember the last time someone complained. They've got really good burgers, but I had a very good salad the last time I was there. Oh, and the spiked Oreo cookie milkshake. Yum. 😋

I just had a ridiculous conversation with my father

Him: Here, sign this
*tax form*
Me: You did my taxes?
Him: Yes, so now just sign.
Me: Okay, no, you're going to talk me through exactly how you did this
Him: Why?
Me: Why? Because someday I'll be 30, and by then, I refuse to have a business degree, six credit hours of accounting, six credit hours of finance, and two years of tutoring in accounting under my belt and have my daddy doing my taxes for me.
Him: But it's just easier if I do it for you.
Me:

Since I was 15 years old a tax attorney do our taxes. He did my folks taxes. The first year we were married we didn't use the tax attorney and they got messed up when he did them. We left a few things off that we should not have. We owed money and had a penalty too. Same tax attorney has been doing taxes since. I dread talking to him as he always tortures me. He also does my business taxes too so it is extra torture.
