I am really tired of people searching out stories on Philadelphia fans that do not represent the majority. I have to leave for school in 5 minutes.....but if I had time, I'm sure I could dig up incidents re. fan rowdiness after sports victories in Detroit, or Chicago or Pittsburgh.
Watch the people in the video in my previous post. They are the typical fan......jumping with happiness...high fives.....etc.
I gotto go.
Bye
Ok. I didn’t mean to upset you. I didn’t search out a story. It was smack dab on a news site I frequent. I should have said a minority of fans instead. Probably less than that. There are probably people as in other riots whose job in life is to do just that and riot and cause chaos. It is their M. O. They could have been waiting for the game to end so that they could resort to their enjoyment of destruction which is what they do. The mayor of the city though should have seen something like this coming and have had National Guard or riot police waiting. He should have put out a warning against such behavior and said behavior would not be tolerated. I feel bad for the owners of the shops, businesses, homes, and vehicles destroyed. I hope those that did the destruction will be outed and jailed, or better yet, get many years of community service.

Right now it is a bright blue sunny sky. But we have a winter weather advisory starting at noon. DD just told me no one is sure what is happening. They were already checked out and on DME when it was cancelled. They might not be able to get a flight until tomorrow.
How stressful for you. I am sure the kids will be fine. They probably see it as an adventure. I am sure there was a travel company through Varsity that they booked through. Hopefully they can figure things out. Prayers.

What poster or what athlete ever used the word "forced"or even implied that victory was "forced"?
Athletes who are Christians like to deflect the praise that is lavished on them and refocus it on the Lord.
They are basically saying: "I did well because the Lord gave me the talent or ability to do so"
All while disregarding the effort of the person.
Kinda like the doctors lol.
If a patient dies, it is the doctor's fault. . If the patient is saved, they thank god.

*edit* fixed some silly typoos.

The stressful part for me is it sounds like she is freaking out a bit. But, luckily, she still has some money with her, and hopefully it will get figured out. In the meantime, I am trying very hard to remain sort of calm.

It's almost inevitable when 1,000's of people descend upon a city street, after a major sports championship that someone, or some thing is going to suffer harm/injury. It's why I stay home when my city teams are in the playoffs. Love the victory, but would never enjoy the crowds. Hey sometimes the crowds at the theme parks scare me in the same way. Especially after night time stuff.
