Sympathy like. I would never even think of telling my DWifey that. She can buy whatever she wants, and does, all the time...plus, she looks really good in boots...!!!!!!! :D  ;) :)
It was all in good fun. He was surprised I didn't get the pair of boots I went to look at today. Not comfy and meh quality, a big pass. Super cute and practical from a place I've never had a problem with before, hoping it's just a fluke. The running joke in our house is that if I gave up Target and shoe shopping the national economy would crash. I still say it's our food bill

I'm starting to get a little ticked off with DH. As was mentioned, we're getting a snow storm here in the Netherlands. The Netherlands are not really equipped to deal with it...in Wyoming, this would be nothing, but in Wyoming, we have lots of snow plows, everyone travels by cars and roads are cleared and sanded/salted quickly. Here, it's not that efficient and as far as I've seen in the past, my town does NOTHING with the bike paths. DS is not a good biker...his balance isn't great, his coordination is lacking, his motor skills are pretty mediocre. Putting him on a bicycle in the snow/ice is NOT a good idea. I mentioned this to DH...saying I hoped the paths were cleared by Monday. But they won't be because it snowed a lot today and is supposed to snow again tomorrow. I have no way to get him home...I don't have a car or a drivers license. I don't know what to do. So I say maybe we'll have to take a cab tomorrow. He says we can't afford a cab. I ask what else I'm supposed to do. Take a bus, he says...but the closest bus stop is about a 20 minute walk, and then it's probably an hour and a half home with transfers...there's only one bus that goes to our neighborhood and it only goes once an hour. You miss it, you have to wait an hour. Not to mention, I have to work tomorrow....the only way I have to get to work is by bike...and as soon as I'm done, I have to go directly to the school to pick up DS. What would I do with my bike? It won't fit in the car. He can't just pick it up later and I'd need it the next day. I can't go back and get it later because I have choir. As soon as I'm home, I'll have to do the grocery shopping and cook dinner and hope I'm in time to get to choir, so no time to have hubby drop me off to get the bike and ride it home. He says if it's really that bad, he'll pick DS up. Oh...ok...that's good. So now it's been snowing literally the entire day...there is NO way I'm letting DS ride his bike on our normal route...there's a big huge hill to go down, through a tunnel, and then up the other side. First, no way is he biking down that hill on ice...it scares me even in GREAT conditions. He's just not that good at riding a bike. 2nd, he'd never make it up the other side...we'd end up walking halfway home anyway. So I tell DH, looks like he'll have to pick up DS from school....he tells me he can't, because he has to go to Tillburg tomorrow for work! Um...then WHY did you tell me you could pick him up? You won't let us go by taxi, but you aren't providing any other safe alternatives and it's not YOU who is going to be scraping him off the street when he biffs it, nor will YOU be the one dealing with the resulting meltdown. He says "Sorry...I know it sucks, but I can't really do anything about it." I'm tempted to say, well, I'm sorry, but I can't do anything about it either...taxi it is.

Thank you, there is nothing we can do at the moment except wait till tomorrow and hope the weather improves.
My sister actually lives in an apartment building where you drive in and her car gets parked automatically. View attachment 249622
So the only way to get her car out is to get the garage fixed.
While the 21st century tech is pretty cool, I say no thanks. I will park the car myself to be sure it can always get out. That is just insane. What if there was an emergency? On the other hand wait. They really don't want you driving in the Netherlands. :cautious:The cars are taken hostage.;)

I'd be ticked. I am surprised they don't offer school buses for the kids. Would they close the schools seeing that it could be unsafe for young children bike riding in the snow?

We ended up getting several inches. This was before 2pm and it snowed the WHOLE day.
{{HUGS}} I think you have no choice but to take a taxi at least one if not both ways! Good luck

Thanks for the links. I'm unfamiliar with the musical lineup--but I'd probably enjoy hearing any of them if I went.

What really impressed me was the artist gallery--WOW!! Different, creative, wonderful art. Even if it might be pricey (I don't know the prices, but you could see the quality in some of the photos), it's just so refreshing to see ORIGINAL art, jewelry, etc. on display. I wish we had an Armadillo Bazaar up here, as I would definitely be excited about attending it.

Yes, many of the musical acts are ones I've never heard of either, except for the older ones, like Lou Ann Barton, Marcia Ball, Dale Watson, etc. they're Austin music scene icons...!!! :)
And yes, the artwork is beyond amazing, but, also way too 'spensive ;) for our blood...!!! :)
