I never drank the Apple kool aid. I much prefer Android. That being said I have never spoken to my phone, I would feel weird doing that.
My Dad is cheap on the cell phone bill, so back in high school, I did iPod Touches instead of smartphones. They worked for me at the time, but once AT&T started doing smartphones on their prepaid plans, I started getting midgrade Android phones. The first two I got were total carp, but after my last one, I decided I was never doing iPhones. When my last one started to hit the two year mark, all AT&T had prepaid wise was cheap Androids or iPhone 6. I started looking into other phones, and there was one that they offered for their contract plans. It was $330 out of pocket if you bought the phone straight up. I did research and found an unlocked version on Amazon for $230. Hmmm...so $100 less and no bloatware...guess which route I went. I have no desire to go back to iOS anything.

As for talking to my phone, I'm fine with it. It makes me feel like I'm on Star Trek. :D

Your dad paid for your phone? Lucky you!
I never have a phone with a contract because it is so much cheaper to get a pay as you go. I bought a new phone last month because my old one was so old the Disney app wouldn't run on it anymore. My new one is a Sony but I don't like it as much as my old LG.

We woke up to snow on the ground in Chicago this morning. Not ready for this.

Speaking of Chicago, I watched a very nice parade on tv today from the "Magnificent Mile". It was on midday here (a repeat of an evening telecast out in your area recently, I guess). That was a very festive parade (they had some Disney in there, too--advertising of course, for the parks). From what I could see on tv, that area looked like a really nice business and shopping district.
