Maybe my dh isn't in as much trouble I had to run out with my older ds so we stopped in a store that had video games and he found another one he wanted even more than the one my dh forgot to pick up and best yet it was cheaper:joyfull:
Cheaper is always better.

It is so expensive! My brother, wife and 3 kids are flying to the Netherlands tomorrow for the Christmas holiday. This is the first and probably last time that we can do this. My whole family chipped in to pay for the flights and accommodation for them. It will go down in family history as the most expensive Christmas EVER.

I also did not need to Google, I am sure it means we have broad general knowledge.:p
My brother travels a lot for his job so he has racked up loads of miles. He can fly here on points, but he works so much he doesn't have time for real vacations. We did get to see him 2 years ago when he was close enough to combine a visit here with an office trip.:)

@Cesar R M , I'm really enjoying your TR. I love the pictures of old churches--I'm always interested in seeing the details.

The mine pictures were scary--I think I'd feel claustrophobic in those dark tunnels way down. Fascinating photos and history, though.

I love caves and caverns! :)
There are actually quite a few here in Texas.
Natural Bridge Caverns and Inner Space Cavern are just two of them of note nearby.
Natural Bridge is near San Antonio, and Inner Space is just north of us near Georgetown, Texas.
Inner Space was actually discovered when they were doing initial drilling for I-35 way back in the day. They broke through and were perplexed. They lowered a guy down with a flashlight into what turned out to be this massive cavern room, and the rest is history...!!! :)

That is beautiful. It is nice that it is warm enough to walk in. Hershey has a drive through light display. It would be much nicer to walk it though. but it is too cold here. There is such a nice variety of food in Austin. Seems like a great place to live.:)

Have a fun trip! You'll be missed, but we'll be waiting with baited breath to see the photos when you get back. Hoping there is no snow in Galveston. I saw on the weather channel that Corpus Christi had snow. Just insane!

I didn't have a snot free shirt for over a decade. 4 kids in 9 years. I thought I was safe until last week. When I was out with youngest dd, she had a slight runny nose. No tissues of course on me. So what do I do? Back of my sleeve to wipe it.

Funny thing about it, it was actually a drive-thru many years ago, but, it's much better as a walk-thru for the last few decades...!!! :)
And yes, Austin can be a kooky place to live, but, it's also pretty darn cool, and we don't see ourselves ever leaving...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :)

Thank you very much! :)
We've never been on a cruise before (except for oldest DD and SonIL that went on a combined DCL/WDW trip for their honeymoon),
So this will be new for the rest of us! :)
More family fun...it's all six (including SonIL) of us!!! :) We have great times together...!!!!! :joyfull:
Then, this coming summer we've got another one booked with all six of us, plus MIL, BIL, and niece...!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:  :)
And yes, southeast Texas got way more snow than we did...?! It actually isn't the first time, though...crazy, indeed... :cyclops:

:hilarious:
Snot-free clothing for a coupla' decades now...!!! :D ;) :)

There's a better balance point on roller skates, and some people prefer them. Luckily for me, I was very good on ice skates, so when I tried roller skates, they seemed a bit clunky to me.

Both sports are good to help your muscles and build up your endurance. Glad that roller skating helped you out a bit. :)

Inline skates are way better than roller skates...I may have actually been on them again recently...  ;) :)

Meant to share with those of you with autistic children (or similar medical issues) that I saw on the local news (MA) here yesterday, a special private time in a large shopping mall for these kids.

A few hours before the mall opened, these parents and children were allowed in, so that the kids could meet Santa without the usual noise and chaos of a shopping mall. It was a calm environment for these children, and they also had arts and crafts for them, and a few comfort dogs were there for the children to meet. The event was very well received, and I heard that quite a few other shopping malls in the U.,S. are also offering similar events during the holiday season. :)

Thanks for sharing, Minnie! :)
DS is very good and personable with folks, but, he has always related to animals (specifically, our dogs) mostly...maybe a part of his situation, but, it's like he has a connection with them...!!!:)

So I decided to be kind of bold and texted my boss last night to tell her I wouldn't be in to work till 11am today. I didn't ask, just told her. After that I turned off my phone and went to bed. Slept in this morning till 7.30, I picked up my new shoes and went food shopping.
I hadn't had breakfast yet and when I got to Aldi I proved why it isn't a good idea to shop when you are hungry.
Shoes? New shoes? Good for you on all counts:inlove:
