No, I have to work through the 20th but then I have off for awhile. I have to decide if I want to come back to Switzerland in February or look for something in London.Oh no!! Do you get a different day off instead?
I'm so happy you got it to work! My brother in Australia was the first to get WhatsApp and now the whole family has it. We have 2 family groups going, one with our mother included and one that is just us siblings. Smartphones have made keeping in touch so much easier and even though we live far apart we still know what is going on in each other's lives.@RedNoseMickey My half brother lives in Australia with his family. He told me to install What's App months ago. Never could get it to work. Installed it again after seeing your post. I messaged him not expecting anything back since it is a 16 hour difference between the East Coast and Melbourne. He surprisingly answered. He was on his way home from a Christmas party for his office at 2am their time. We rarely get to chat so that was awesome. Thanks. I tried to use imessage with him before but he was afraid of fees. This is free plus we can send each other long videos. Thanks!![]()
Snow is nice in theory but the reality not so much. It’s ok. It is very pretty. It just won’t stop though!
I don't know@SteveBrickNJ Is this what was meant by the Chit Chat thread? If so, the card thread was the correct one to use to answer a specific question.
YIKES! Sympathy like here, too!
His heart is actually doing VERY well! They test him every six months and have him run on a treadmill and all that jazz. I think his job being so physical is actually a helping factor (he installs floors, so he's never sitting still and is often lifting heavy stuff) because it keeps him in shape. My biggest concern now that his heart is doing well is his joints and back...he literally works himself like a slave (I don't know why, either - his boss treats them all like carp), and I worry that he's doing permanent damage. He's super stubborn and won't get checked until pain is literally incapacitating. (Thankfully, he's seeing a chiropractor I recommended right now - that man is a miracle worker!)
You don't have to explain it. You can post anywhere you want. The topic works no matter what thread it is in. The difference is that 6742 pages in this thread of 134,900 posts will get lost very quickly. Having it's own thread was exactly the right thing to do. Sometimes you have to give a thread time to find it's audience, however, it will happen sooner with a new thread then including it in an old one. You didn't do anything wrong, I was just trying to help you figure out the best way to use the board.I don't knowwhat I meant @Goofyernmost
Last night I was on THIS Chit Chat thread....the one you are looking at as you read my words. I just popped in and posted a question about how people feel about Christmas Cards.......but people were having fun....they were in the middle of a fun back and forth exchange and my timing was bad. So that is my fault not their fault.
This morning I created a different independent thread.....just like my Fall Foliage Thread. Then I came on THIS thread and alerted people to that......I invited them to leave this Chit Chat popular thread and open up my newly started independent thread.
Wow! That took a lot of words to explain!![]()
Understood. Have a nice weekend. My town ( Brick NJ) is predicted to receive 5 to 8 inches of snow. You don't have to explain it. You can post anywhere you want. I love the first so much!
Oh god, dont remind me.
I hate these days where everything was a fight between BETAMAX and VHS.
We decided with BETA and it ended losing, making our purchase worthless after a few years.
The good thing is VHS went away quickly after that in favour of the DVD.
For years the VHS was important in the Elementary School I teach in. During the winter months it is often too cold for outdoor recess. The teachers would often pop in a Disney video into the room's VCR and that would entertain the kids. Now they have more modern ways to entertain or occupy the kids.We never got into it until well after that battle was settled. Even though my pop worked for IBM for 27+ years, our home was never a bastion of tech...!!!![]()

But, I definitely remember all that.
Pumps any time of year, Crocs flip flops in summer and boots and booties in fall and winter, never can have to many. I may be related to Imelda Marcos![]()
That was ds’s favorite too when he was younger. Called it green ice cream(the only thing green he would eat)He must have overdone it cause he won’t touch it now.
I was more atune to the kids crying in the middle of the night. Plus dh was commuting 200 miles a day when they were little tots. Luckily for me the kids no longer wake up. We have the 3 dogs and 3 cats. They never grow up and he is more atune to their business at night. So I get to sleep through the nights now and he wakes up a couple of times a night.
Major sympathy like. Hope you never have any complications again.
Glad you are sleeping better.![]()
I divided the batches of what I made into thirds. One third for us, one third for my sister and her family, and the last for the bake sale. That way we still have plenty for the two of us but not an overabundance. Any extra at the end of the Christmas season I take to work and put in to teacher's lounge. Oh, but I don't share the cheddar cheese tartlets, those are all for us!
