Oddly enough, moose (when prepared properly) is also delish. Had it once. Some friends who grew up in northern Maine used to hunt. They invited us to dinner one night and it was the first time I had it--really good, and the gravy was awesome.
I think with many game meats, you have to cook them in different ways. I think if your DWifey had game meat prepared the correct way, she might like (some) of it.
I've never had moose, but, I've had elk before and it was also really good!!!
And, nope on DWifey and game meat. I think I've told this story before...
My grandmother (dads mom) was visiting and we went over to mom and pops for Sunday dinner. DWifey walked into the house and immediately asked what smelled so good. As DWifey walked into the kitchen my grandmother gave her a forkful of what smelled so good, and DWifey was absolutely loving it...right up to the point where she asked what it was and my grandmother told her deer.
Gag reflex, and run to the powder room she did...
It's not the taste for her, it's the thought of what it is. Obviously, we're a little different in that way...!
