I agree with that statement, I'm just commenting on how people resist accepting what is as much a part of life as breathing. I resisted as well, then said to myself... what the hell do I think I'm hiding. It is as obvious as the comb-over I mention when people cannot see up close. My other more of a cushioning comment was that even small children have to wear glasses from time to time so there are many instances where ageing had nothing to do with it.

I can tell you from experience that not only does a hardening happen, but, as I found out from my one eye cataract surgery, the lens becomes yellowed and dull as well. Hence the fact that using a flashlight helps because it gets more light through. There is a very noticeable difference between my original lens in my right eye and my squeaky clean, brand new one in my left eye. It is such a noticeable difference that I almost wish the unobtrusive cataract in my right eye would grow so I can get that lens replaced as well. I'm not going to risk anything just for that without a good reason, but, still it is that much different. But, like I was saying age is involved, but, not necessarily the only reason why using help for clear vision is necessary.

In dogs, I think the vet told us that the lens turned blue. Interesting that ours would turn yellow!!

My eye doctor (and our veterinarian too so this applies to more than just humans) said that as we age, there's a film on our eyes that gets harder and harder. Some people's eyes get harder faster and we call those cataracts, but that even with no eye issues your whole life, your vision will diminish as you age and that film gets harder.

Obviously not the technical terms or anything.
I dont think its only the eyes imho, the nerves and muscles as well. :o

After wrapping my head around my eye problems, and waiting for my eyes to return back to normal after being dialated, life threw me another curveball. I logged into Facebook last night to discover that a good friend of mine had passed away. Just 61 years old. Nice guy. I can't believe he is gone.
I'm so sorry for your loss! That's so young! Was he sick?

My gray hair shows my age. And those pesky wrinkles!;)
I don't have that much hair to be a beacon (except my beard) and I have solved the wrinkle problem. The solution is called fat. The same fat that Doctors charge thousands to move from one place to another to eliminate wrinkles. Just have another plate of Spaghetti. Problem solved and it's cheap.;)

Very cool! :)

Yes, you say bison, I say potahto...!!!!! :joyfull:
Wait.....

:D ;)
I know....we always said buffalo, but there are some people who get all upset because apparently they are NOT buffalo, that's just what people called them because that was the closest thing they had to what they look like. I knew this guy once (from Texas, actually) and he was one of those people who always knows more than everyone else (when really he doesn't) and he informed me that Wyoming does not have antelope. I said yes we do, people come to hunt them on my dad's ranch. He said no you don't, what you have are deer. And I said yes, we have those TOO, but we also have the Pronghorn antelope and he said those don't exist....you get the picture. So I took a picture of one in my yard and sent it to him. (Incidentally, the same guy argued with me about national parks and said Wyoming doesn't have any, and I said we have Yellowstone and he informed me that that was in California. Google it, dude, you're thinking of Yosemite.) Whatever....big furry animal. But I know some people are very....strict, I guess? about technicalities, so therefore the quotation marks.

Anytime a friend or family dies in their sleep the first question of course is what did they die from. I guess the heart just has so many beats, and his beat for the last time. Barry did have a lot of health problems, and I haven't actually seen him in a very long time. However, he had a very active Facebook page, and I followed his page regularly. If he wasn't talking sports/baseball, he was leaving video links to all his favorite tunes. Many people besides me, I am sure, will miss him a lot.

Speaking off old TV series....Will and Grace this week!!! The same writers are on the show so finally a funny sitcom again. Though I liked Tim Allen's show somewhat. I accidentally watched the second episode on my phone last night.

Accidentally meaning I hate watching TV on the phone. I only was going to watch a clip but ended up watching the whole thing instead.

Of course, I'm picky on what TV shows I watch.

I saw Will and Grace on a billboard. Know nothing else about it. Is it all the same actors returning to their original roles-just in a time warp? I loved him originally on Criminal Minds but I felt he lost his natural ability to act, he as the years went on seemed so forced in that role. I felt the same thing happened to David Caruso in CSI Miami, his a acting too became forced.

@Cesar R M , I was reading an article from the N.Y. Post, and it said that 360 buildings in Mexico City are still in danger of "delayed collapse", even though it's been days since the earthquakes hit. It will take quite a while to dismantle, clear away debris, and rebuild that city.

I've been so impressed with the ongoing rescue efforts by the Mexican people (both trained first responders and average citizens in the area) along with (some) volunteers from the U.S., including the elite "USA-2" Team from the L. A. County Fire and Rescue. I hope all the areas affected can return to some sort of normal life sooner, as opposed to later.

Us too. We had cows across the street, and saw antelope every morning.

Yes, we had a cattle, horse, and goat ranch right next to us when DWifey and I bought our home.
I still see a lot of white-tailed deer in the neighborhood right across a main road (not a highway) from us that I go through to and from work to get to the country back road portion of my commute. :)
