Only the second time I've done a closer in a while. Also did one a coupla' weeks ago.
He just hasn't needed me so much since he's down to just the one location again.
Kinda' glad to have gotten this gig again a few times. Pretty laid back and relaxing. But, there's no way we could survive on the pay (and lack of bennies), even though it's by far and away the highest paying retail gig I've ever worked.

I was wondering about this because you hadn't mentioned doing any closers lately. The clothes look like nice quality stuff.

That still remains as my achilles heal. I have never been able to ride in a single engine plane. I want backup power, I know what can go wrong with combustion engines. That actually may have been my Fathers problem as well. Jet engines have helped me deal with it. I have been fortunate enough to have flown all over the world at one time or the other. Still my first thought when boarding an airplane is ... sure hope the plane don't crash. After boarding, I don't even think about it again.

Try a modern gyroplane just for fun, sometime. Although I have never been afraid of flying (4 engines, 3 engines, 2 engines, 1 engine, none  ;)), that thing was as safe as anything I've ever flown in.
The guy in this article I flew with is Dayton Dabbs... :)

He had actually texted me a few times before to see if I could work, but it timed with other things I needed to do.

It's not top-of-the-line product, of course, but, it's definitely good quality, and he has always had a lot of repeat customers. :)

At least most single engine planes glide very well if you lose the engine:)

Yes, but, they can also stall, where as it is impossible to stall a gyroplane. You can autorotate to a safe landing. Granted, you better have some space for a landing rollout, but it is much shorter than a small plane. They also make gyroplanes with enclosed c ockpits, they have about half the gauges switches and screens as a conventional small fixed-wing aircraft, and they are much less expensive, comparatively.
As I've posted before, I want one a' them there gyrothangs...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :)

We are rural too, but with just about every major national chain you can think of. We love our little local Italian restaurant though. Amazing pizza. :)

I'd settle for a grocery store. We had a pharmacy that sold some staple things but it closed down when he went to jail for medicare fraud. :cyclops: An 125 year old building that is basically a 2 flat, lived upstairs and pharmacy on ground level. Front porch with rockers back then. How I wound up here is beyond me. I grew up in a town of 35 thousand people and after college the town my condo was in had 45 thousand. But the pharmacy is gone but we still have our pig farm up the road. Nothing like taking your pup to the vet and he is in the waiting room with a mini goat waiting to have his hoofs trimmed up.

We are not far from all the chains when we want anything. Our town, well it never evolved, our town leaders want no part of any of that. Most families are generations here. Us since '85 and we are still considered 'outsiders.'

Interesting thing about all the videos I've seen of the quake.
The building shaking was very weird, probably due of trepidatory(up and down) then sideways shaking.
close up apartment buildings and houses were literally hitting each other like someone clapping hands, leading to larger damage.
