Well, I still need to make our dining reservations, but everything else is planned about as much as it can be, which is to say, we've got our resort booked and we'll be hitting the parks for EMH. That's about all you can plan in advance besides TS restaurants. If I've missed something, PLEASE I'd love some advice. I don't need to know what time we are going to do which attraction, or even which days we'll be in which park, but all the things we CAN have nailed down, I'd like to have it outlined. My understanding is no FPs in advance, so I don't think there's anything else I can plan at this point.

I had a very odd dream last night, in which I was with @figmentfan423 in a big city...I think Denver, because at one point we were walking to my cousin's house. Anyway, as we were walking, there were these 2 groups of teens...one was playing basketball and one was throwing bricks...they had made some elaborate game with the bricks, lacking any sort of REAL sports equipment. And figgy was lagging behind and I turned around and she was talking to the brick-throwing teens and suddenly they are all following her down the street back to the basketball-playing teens. She had gotten them all to agree to a street match of basketball. Sans bricks, of course. I really don't know where my brain comes up with these things.

I loves me a greasy spoon! Diners are the best, and very hard to find now. There's a few left in my state. Some years ago, hubs and I had this hobby of driving around New England to find diners. It was fun! Love the style of the one you went to--that's exactly how I like to see them (the few that remain . . . :cautious: ).

About 10 years ago, there was one that was well known in our parts, but the owner sold it to another chef. The new chef completely changed the menu into some sort of gourmet cooking menu, and guess what? It didn't last a year under the new ownership--epic fail.

Your REAL diner deserves another bow here. :happy:

Which table service restaurants are you planning on? For table service we had reservations for Walt's and Bistro Chez Remy both I would eat at again. We also did the Buffalo Bill dinner show, the food wasn't too bad for Europeans doing American BBQ food, the show was the major draw there. Your kids might enjoy the show since they have been to the American West, it was very entertaining to us as adults.

Another place we ate that had decent food was Annette's, which served hamburgers and had a American 50's style vibe. That was in the Disney Village area. I hear that there is a Five Guys in the Disney Village area now, it is an American chain for hamburgers and hubs and I just love it here. So if your family likes burgers you might want to try that.

We also got some pasta dish at the Colonel Haithway's quick service in the Disneyland Park, it was terrible. I mean I would have rather have eaten Kapono's dog food terrible. But by the time we finally ordered 45 minutes of standing in line we were beyond ravenous. And it was one of the only quick service options open at that time of night, which was at 6pm.

We also ate at Toad Hall in Fantasyland for quick service, it wasn't terrible but it wasn't outstanding either. We got chicken but I have heard the fish and chips are really good. The atmosphere inside was cute.

When we went the breakfast was included with the price of the room. We had eaten the terrible meal the first day so we loaded up on breakfast to fill us up until our table service meals. The quality of the food there was really shocking. We had just spent about 6 days in Paris and the food was terrific everywhere and we just popped into places in Paris. For being near such a culinary city DLP has terrible food. You are driving right? I suggest bringing some snacks.

As for rides, just like at WDW go for the big ones right away. The early entry will allow you to get some of Fantasyland and maybe some of Tomorrowland done (some of it was open one of our early days) done right away, so hit Peter Pan and stuff one morning. When we went we used one early day for attractions and another for meeting characters. Early entry didn't seem to be a big deal when we went, and that was in summer. There weren't masses of people waiting, the first day we did early entry it was us and like 20 other people! It was very surreal to walk down Main Street with just a few people.

Also we don't know if it was a fluke or what, but they didn't seem to enforce the fast pass return times like they do at the American parks. But that was a couple years ago so maybe they do now.

Those diners always have good food. This one is always fun because even though the cleanliness is questionable at times the food is always fantastic and they use a lot of local food in their menu items. The breads are from a bakery a few blocks away and all the meat comes from a local butcher shop. The dining car is really small too only four booths in the back and counter that seats maybe 12 at the most. The staff is a hoot too, they are some tough characters yet still friendly. One of the waitresses has been there forever and has a sharp wit to her, very no nonsense.
