@figmentfan423 , I hope you also have a good day, but please don't buy any okra. May I suggest a side trip to buy cookies, which are delicious, instead.
After 5 years of living down here in NC, I finally gave in and tried Okra to see what the obsession with it was. All I can figure out is that there must be some magical story that goes with eating tasteless chunks of green stuff which might even be healthy if not coated with batter and deep fried. Not lining up to have more, but, I guess it's harmless enough. If one has to deep fry anything, chicken would be the first choice with deep fried Twinkies for dessert. They have even figured out how to deep fry Ice Cream down here. How anyone survives past their 30th birthday is a mystery. The one that has me still bewildered is Green Beans cooked up in Bacon fat. Just typing that I could feel my arteries contract.

Do you think 3 Category 4 and above hurricanes in a row is mother nature's way of telling the planet to shape up or ship out?

Meanwhile, a 93 year old family business (mix of auto/toys/candy/house store) in CT, RI and MA is closing down :( It's great to go to if you didn't want to go to a store bigger than a town.

Thanks to Amazon, WalMart, Home Depot and Lowe's (sarcasm)

Happy Farm Market Saturday! I sending one of the boys out this afternoon for what I fear may be the last lawn mowing of the season:(

Kapono and I went to the farm market today. I bought carrots, potatoes, tomatoes (cherry ones), bread, and dog treats. Kapono was really excited when I pulled up and then got incredibly shy once we got by the vendors. We did see a couple people we know and she let one of them pet her, usually she hides behind my legs when someone tries to pet her.

I like it steamed with siracha sauce but most of what i buy that doesn't get eaten with me is used in soups and stews as a veggie and thickener:joyfull:

Interesting to watch the resort prepare. Today 90% of the garbage cans are gone, all the umbrellas for tables, pretty light fixtures are zip tied to the poles. Betting tomorrow our balcony furniture will be moved into our room and the furniture outside will go away or be secured to hotel columns.

At Animal Kingdom tonight we saw them removing none implanted decorative props. Many of the construction walls came down at the Studios exposing the work being done to guests yet Springs walls remained up as of today. The local CMs seem to be taking it in stride.
The strange part is.. that the storm is stubbornly going west and not the path that NHC is predicting.
Its been.. what? 2 weeks that they keep saying its going to turn north to hit florida? its still going to cuba.
Jose doing a similar thing, all storms seem to be moving completely straight to the west D:
