It is almost 2 pm here and the brisket has been on since around 5-5-30am. The wind is up so hubs is having a problem keeping the heat up so we may not be eating until 6-7pm. But this is how it looks now.

Oh and the mac and cheese is made and ready to be warmed in the oven. It is a combination of Gouda, cheddar, and Parmesan. I also made carmelized onions to possibly put on top.

Hubs just told me he will probably have to finish the brisket in the oven because the wind is just too much. He assures me that it has been in long enough to get all the good smoky flavor. He said if he doesn't finish it in the oven we won't be eating until 9pm.

So today in route to my Moms we hit Schaumburgs Septemberfest in the morning.

It is a cause near and dear to our hearts and have been going for years and years at this time. In the morning it is also Free Rides for children and young adults with special needs and their families. And for those of us that don't qualify the funds go to special Olympics.
It is a win for all. The music is cut off for those with autistic sound issues, all you heard was the glee of those before the offical fest opening having fun for free. A annual fun and rewarding event for my family to support. Then forward onto my Mom's. Another saga of aging it was today. A good visit but kinda seeing the writing on the wall so to say. Rough week with all that too.

Love Septemberfest. Just the parade for me this year. Great tradition.

I don't really know what it is your talking about. I'm thinking it is a computer thingy that you idea lot and it broke and that makes you sad. So sympathy like to you I don't like when my stuff breaks either.

oh a UPS is a battery that protects your computer from blackouts (aka power down) and power spikes.

The battery just died and just found that this unit from TRIPP LITE does not have a user replaceable battery.
Means I'd have to send it to TRIPP LITE to get a new battery installed.

I just ordered a new one with user replaceable batteries and similar capacity.
Hopefully will get here soon.

I also have an APC branded one, which is going strong (replaced the batteries twice in the past 8 years)

In other scary news.. the river is now at 110% capacity.
Might overflow this week if it continues raining (which looks like it will).
It gets into flooding stage when it reaches around 130% capacity or 2 meters above the limit.

My daughter made a big batch of bbq pulled pork for sandwiches and mustard potato salad for dinner. I forgot to take a pick. But she made so much we have enough for another meal.
