I'm on the dense side this week. Sorry.

What is a Mum and Dads hedge?
Hedge veg stall = a small stall on a hedge or wall of a property selling homegrown produce ( vegetables jams etc) and reliant on an honesty system for paying ( if you take something you are trusted to put the money in the tin/letterbox).
We have one in the lane that runs up the side of the house and the sign is put on the main road wall so as to advertise better.

If they are there....ours still have not caught up. My DD apartment is still awaiting approval for a new roof. Next 3 days they are now saying. She still doesn't have gutters and had a freak'n hole in roof from where the tree fell on it. There is a temporary patch that has held so far but yikes. Then there is the shortage of roofers etc let alone shingles. Crazy.

From the pictures I've seen, your daughter is one of the lucky ones and her house likely will not be a priority. Especially with a temporary patch. Some peoples whole homes have been ripped apart or completely flooded.

Had a princess tea party for my daughter's half birthday today :inlove::inlove: She was born in a snowstorm and I'm never able to plan anything outdoors and flowery for her actual birthday, so this happened.
You have a beautiful little girl. The tea party set up looks like a scene frim a movie. Happy half birthday to her.
Hi all!

Thinking Texas for the last few days.

Been a bummer of a week here from health of my DD issues to loss of life due to health insurance restrictions in America. DD bummed with a colleagues death. Went into hospital with a severe case of phenomena and they released her with meds. So she died. 30 years old. Broke her heart and mine too. Wrestling with the @FutureCEO thought process of move elsewhere. 30 years old and dead because of a restrictive insurance plan. This would be my own kid(s). I am so wrestling. I type this with tears in my eyes. How does this happen here.
Deepest sympathies with what you are dealing with. So very sad.

My Mom frequently made Rosettes for my Sis and me growing up. (Mom loved them too a thing from her childhood) Best when warm and crispy soft. I haven't had those warm gems in decades now. I never wanted to make. Deep frying is nothing I wanted to bother with the clean up.

Hubs has wanted to get a deep fryer for years. It I won't let him because I hate the mess of frying too. Health wise we don't need a fryer either. Oh and I don't like the smell of the grease.

Good morning and to @ajrwdwgirl a sympathy like in advance. I'm thinking you must be grateful having a school today with so many children in Texas not knowing when or where their school year will resume. Continuing my prayers for Texas.

Yes today is the day I go back, although the kids don't come until Friday. Boring inservice and meetings today meaning no work time in my room. And middle school orientation tonight. Looking forward to a walk with the dog though. It is unfortunate about all the Texas schools as school is often a safe place for kids. Still praying for all those involved too.

I used to have a deep fryer and just the smell of it :depressed::depressed: I contemplated getting the air fryer on Amazon Prime Day but took too long deciding and it was gone.

I am really streamlining my packing on this trip. Disneyland is just 6 days away, and I don't want to take anymore than I really need. On the fence about bringing the iPad. It's great in the hotel, but just a nuisance to carry on the plane, and/or in the suitcase. The weather forecast looks gorgeous. Another fence decision is whether or not to upgrade to an AP, since my friend Annette wants to reschedule her trip to sometime next year. She has tickets to use that expire on January in 2019. I'm wondering if I can use Disney Rewards dollars for that? I have almost $200. I thought upgrading to the Disney Visa with the annual fee would earn me more dollars, but it really has not been worth it in my opinion. I guess I don't spend enough on the credit card

Wrestling between sad and angry. In a country with awesome hospitals no ones life should end at 30 because their insurance doesn't cover standard treatment of a very treatable illness. Breaks my heart. What the heck is wrong with us?
What appears to be wrong with us is one of two things. First, we might just not be the people that we thought we were. Our inability to affect positive, caring change seems to be showing that. Or, perhaps those that are truly caring people are to afraid to speak out and make our country everything it should be and not the puppet of the rich and greedy. Either way it is very depressing. We can't even correct the simplest of problems in any common sense way. Never felt worse about us in all my life.

We have a small deep fat fryer, but we haven't used it in about a year. I thought about getting an air fryer (really for hubs, as I don't eat much fried food), but the thing weighed a ton! It wasn't that large in size, but it was very heavy. I thought to myself, do I want to haul this heavy thing out of a closet to the kitchen counter any time we want to cook air fried food?? That was the deal breaker for me--even when it went on sale at Kohls.

Official word has been handed down from the school board. Poms are officially going to Nationals at WDW in Feb. My very lucky daughter goes in December with the band, turns around and goes back in February. I will be there for December, but there is only one place I will be going after that.

Straight to the poor house.
How excellent for your daughter. :)I am sorry for your bank account. :(

That is what keeps me from getting more kitchen appliances. If I cannot lift it easily from a cabinet, I won't buy it.

If you are planning another trip within the year it would probably be cost effective to upgrade to an AP. You might want to research AP to get because some do have blackout dates. I would upgrade at the start of your trip because there are excellent AP discount, almost any place to dine at including the corn dog cart offers an AP discount. And of course there is a discount on merchandise and tours if you purchase those.

You can use your reward dollars and gift cards for upgrading your ticket as well.

I agree. Yet a funeral is happening for a 30 year old young lady with a very treatable illness in a developed nation. It hurts. It hurts more that some find it acceptable collateral loss for 'the greater' America again. I can't reconcile the greater good of all that. I look at my kids, it could be them. My DD will attend a funeral for a life lost that need not have happened. Wrestling.

They come home Saturday. I debated doing the second week to do Food and Wine, but this gets me a longer trip than coming down the second week would have.

The ying and yang. I understand. Sounds like a great trip that you needed though and the bonus a new kitty. You are too young to likely remember as I do the Food 'n Wine in its glory days before drunk fest. It was shorter and not a drunk fest. I miss that. While I tend to still gravitate to fall it isn't any longer for food and wine. More the early discounts and the lower crowd levels, though not what they once were do to Halloween in August and Oktoberfest also in August.
