@donaldtoo I'm glad things were not any worse for all of you.

Thanks for checking in. Thinking of you, and hoping you stay dry and safe.Sorry, haven't yet been back through the thread, just checkin' in.
Made it through the night with no major problems...just a bit windy and a lot of rain. Ground is saturated, but, fortunately, no flooding for us, so far...
Not so much for others. DWifey got a text this morning from her brother that a coworker of his and the coworkers pregnant (due next month) wife were stuck on the roof of their home in Houston awaiting rescue. Haven't heard anything back, yet.
Finally saw some video of Port Aransas. Pretty bad, but, not as bad as I had imagined it might be. We'll definitely be goin' back at some point next summer to give them some of our tourist dollars.
This storm is a crazy b u g g e r though...it looks like it will very likely double-dip the Houston area.
Where do you get that from and where are the photos ? .... for Mrs Ferret of course.
Sorry to hear about your sad week.![]()
Absolutely!!!And I was watching a story on the news about some clown trying to gouge people in Texas. by greatly inflating prices of cases of bottled water he was selling from his truck--when these people are hurting and desperate while this horrible storm is going on.
Goes to show that in a crisis, there are both horrible people and wonderful people. I suspect far more wonderful people are down there now, neighbors helping neighbors, and strangers helping strangers.
So sorry about your DD's friend. That sounds so tragic.![]()
That's really nice of him. I haven't had rosettes in forever. They were always really good especially fresh from the fryer.
Well spotted. It is a sign for the end of our property pointing to Mum and Dads hedge veg stall.
Prayers for those who could not leave. After having a friend who's house is now somewhere in the Atlantic after Sandy I wouldn't have to be told twice to leave but I'm not sure everybody had enough time to do so seeing the storm intensified so fast.
Churros here in the states are a funny thing. Kinda like a taco. So different depending on where you buy them.Loved to eat these things when I was a kid, same with churros. But then I favoured the salty churros with lemon, salt and spicy sauce.
Well, technically a "churro" is anything made of paste or breading that has been fried.Churros here in the states are a funny thing. Kinda like a taco. So different depending on where you buy them.
Stay safe and watch out for critters. I saw on the news snakes and alligators are moving into areas where they aren't normally found.
I imagine the insurance companies are working overtime down there . . .
Last day of WDW tomorrow.I'm rather torn. I want to be at WDW. At the same time, Jasmine will only be as big as she is for so long, and I want to enjoy as much of it as possible.

So it covers a ton of variations and flavors.
For example: these are the salty "churros". http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2304/2378131099_c9ce6485f8.jpg?v=0

I was just having a giggle trying to picture the queen trying to knight @Mr Ferret 88 with a sword.Hmmm....guess you could have been called worse?![]()
