Sorry, haven't yet been back through the thread, just checkin' in.
Made it through the night with no major problems...just a bit windy and a lot of rain. Ground is saturated, but, fortunately, no flooding for us, so far...
Not so much for others. DWifey got a text this morning from her brother that a coworker of his and the coworkers pregnant (due next month) wife were stuck on the roof of their home in Houston awaiting rescue. Haven't heard anything back, yet.
Finally saw some video of Port Aransas. Pretty bad, but, not as bad as I had imagined it might be. We'll definitely be goin' back at some point next summer to give them some of our tourist dollars.
This storm is a crazy b u g g e r though...it looks like it will very likely double-dip the Houston area.

Don't worry at all about doing ketchup. The safety of you and yours is far more important, but please check in when you can, we worry. Prayers and pixie dust xoxo

Would like to second what Figgy added above. Plus, you never know if your power might go out as well, even if you haven't had as much rain as expected. We're all glad you (and your family) are safe, but we also realize that anyone who lives down there has a lot of their mind this week, so just take care of yourself. Hugs and prayers.

Thanks, Minnie!
Winds have calmed down along with the rain being light, although continuous.
Upon further inspection earlier, we lost a few shingles from the roof, but, I've been in the attic and there are no leaks. Time to call the insurance co. Fortunately, we've not had reason to file a claim in the 28+ years we've been in this home.
Thanks again for the prayers, Minnie!

I've been watching the weather channel all day. Glad you're okay.

My cousin who lives in Katy says most areas a under at least 1 feet of water.. some areas up to 10 (on average, 5 feet).. thats insane!

Ie, some traffic lights are almost covered.

You have love some mayor of some city or town in Texas. He told people to write their social security numbers on their arms to identify them faster. :banghead: 50 inches of rain possible is crazy.

With a forecast like that, you think they would've called in extra help from the surrounding states before the storm.
My friend here rolled with our Red Cross units days before it hit. Food supplies and water. I have not heard when FEMA rolled.
