I haven't had time to stop by for a very long time. I am watching the Cubs, and admit to crying during the World Series Ring Championship ceremony. The ring is awesome.

We lost one of our 4 month old baby finches last week. Our two zebra finches hatched 2 little girls, and now we have only one. We think she died from a cold. She appeared sick for just about a day, and died overnight. Her final resting place is under the bird bath just outside our back door.

I am planning a birthday trip to Disneyland the day before Labor Day. My birthday is on Labor Day this year. Hopefully, the railroad will be back running, and the new fastpass system up and running. My foot is so much better now. I need to stay healthy for my 70th birthday trip.

I saw the new Beauty and the Beast movie, and it made me cry. I just love the Evermore song sung by the Beast.

Too much the catch up on, so I should try and keep up in the future.
I'm so sorry that your little bird passed away, I've had trouble keeping up too. We are all understanding on here...sometimes life gets in the way and we have to take a pause. Glad that you had time to say hi. Enjoy your trip. Congrats on the up coming birthday.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. We started out with our two Parakeets. Then we added our four finches. 2 of those finches were Zebra finches, and they hatched 2 little girl finches. For just about four months now, we have been enjoying our four cages of birds. Two in each cage. My husband works from home now, and he loves taking care of our birds. He was heartbroken when he found the bird sick one day, and gone the next. We did remove her to her own cage overnight, so the other bird would not get sick as well. So far, she is as active as before. We are calling her Dottie. My husband thinks Dottie needs a companion.

I can't believe how early these finches mature. At four months old, we found a few eggs. I don't think the little girl was egg bound, although my husband did. I think she caught a draft. My husband had been putting them in the front window for part of each day. They loved it, and chirped all day long. I just think the one day was way too cold. Those birds are so tiny. I guess we will not know for sure. Just do the best we can.

We moved Spin & Marty, my parakeets in my TV room, where I am typing now. They entertain me a lot, and eat like little piggies. I think Marty is a girl, and Spin is alway squawking at her, and she goes from ignoring him one minute to smooching with him the next. Our birds have added a lot of joy to our life for almost a year now.

My Disneyland trip just might be my last one. Prices are going up, and the long 4+ hour flight is not the most pleasant experience as I get older. Once I get there, I love it. I am traveling with my friend Annette again, but this time, it's just her and her older daughter. We did the trip a few years ago, in May, and had a great trip except for some rain a few days. We all loved being right across the street at the Anaheim Desert Inn. I just wish Disney would let us buy more than a 5 day hopper. A longer trip for me would be so much more relaxing. My husband always lets me have the tax refund money, for my Disney trips. He's a keeper. He doesn't do Disney, but he encourages me to go, and have fun. So I do.

Movies last, candy doesn't. It disappears in this house.

For about the last 4 months, our office has had a snack dispenser and a candy jar in the kitchen and break room, respectively. All free, of course. ;)
The snack dispenser is alternately filled with (or any combination thereof) mixed nuts or a snack mix with thick stick pretzels, peanut butter-filled pretzels, cheese white Melba toast, dark Melba toast, etc., and a whole lot of stuff I've never even seen before...all sooo delicious...!!! :hungry:
The candy jar is filled with all kinds of "fun size" things like M&M's, skittles, Snickers, etc., etc., etc.
Yesterday we had sub sandwiches for a site visit (that I didn't go on, but, absconded with some food, anyway  ;)), and this morning we had our April birthdays celebration with breakfast tacos.
They better find a place to put a free company gym, soon...!!! :hilarious:

As a side note...
Why they call little candy "fun size", I have no clue. :cyclops: To me anyway, this is much more "FUN SIZE"...!!!!!!! :joyfull:

We still give out Easter baskets although they have gotten much smaller during the years. The candy tends to go to waste, since I only really have 1 that is a sugar fiend. The kids never eat the chocolate bunnies, although dh did buy them again for this year. Guess they are just iconic. :) The Cadbury mini eggs are always a hit(with me).;)

Those are good, too ;), but, I prefer these...!!! :hungry: :)
