Ah...ours was more formal. We had to go to the alter with a group of like 8 people, bow and kneel on the little beam and place our hands over the rail in a cup position, keeping head bowed. Then the pastor or one of the alter men would place a host in your hands while the pastor recited the words of intsitution. Then when everyone had had their host, they would bring along a tray of the little thimble glasses and you took one and drank and put it in one of the little holes in back of the railing to be collected after the service. Then everyone got up together, bowed, and returned to their seats as the next group took position. I never liked the idea of the communal cup either...not sanitary. But I saw churches that just took a loaf of bread and a church member held it and people came by and tore off a small chunk, dipped it in the chalice of wine, and ate it..that way no one has handled your bread and you don't have to drink from the same cup.

Yeah, I get the symbolism, it is the entire practice that just makes me flinch.

Same here. We gave 'em out to every fellow classmate.
I remember gettin' 'em all and then carefully sortin' as to who got what...! :hilarious: ;) :)

It was fun. I always gave everyone in my classroom a valentine. Likely my Mom being a teacher grasped everyone gets one theory though I don't think we had rules like that. We did for Birthday invites being passed out at school though. Either all the girls or all the boys or everyone had to receive one if they were to be passed out at school, otherwise mail or have parents arrange elsewhere for distribution.

How are you feeling today @donaldtoo ? I hope you didn't overdo it yesterday at the store.

Yea, in hindsight, I probably shouldn't have taken the shift, 'cause I'm hurtin' today. But, he was in a bind, and I thought it probably wouldn't be too hard on me. WRONG. It was busy as heck and I was hobblin' all over that place. On the bright side, I did sell A LOT of product, though. :in pain: ;)

After talking to DWifey, I'm actually debating weather or not to take a trip to the ER. I have another area on the top of my right foot that's been buggin' me since Friday that last night's fun has only exacerbated. :bored:
Got up to hobble to the bathroom about an hour ago and...Wowouchiwowow...!!! :in pain:
Anyway, she went out to run a coupla' errands, but, we'll hafta' make a decision shortly, otherwise we could be there all night. :cyclops:

Thanks for your concern. :)
