So sorry you are going through this. Flying is bad enough , without the pre drama. We have trouble almost every time we fly. We book seats together, but we end up not sitting together. We check every flight to get this fixed. Such a mess. Do you remember the Seinfeld episode about "you can take the reservations, but you can't keep the reservations"? So true, and funny for the show

I had one bad experience years ago with a third party company selling plane tickets and have not used one since. For hotels, I will chance it but basically only use Hotwire, whom I have good luck with it.

The problem is guest confusion. Kids will see someone dressed like a character and immediately want to see them up close. What happens is the costumed person, who obviously has a "look at me" situation going anyway, will play along. Disney has neither briefed, trained or cleared that individual for those encounters. Anything can happen ranging from OK, everything is fine, to OMG look what just happened. So unless it is a special occasion like the Halloween party they do not allow adults in costume in the parks.

Yes...but we are talking about parties. Someone said they changed the rules on that and now costumes are not allowed at the parties because of safety concerns.

You could probably do a little Disney bounding, as long it doesn't look to much like a costume. It is too bad about no costumes for 14+ for Halloween parties. I personally don't like dressing in costume, but costumes are kind of the heart of Halloween.

Does anyone know if this is actually true? I still haven't read anything official on that...or anything outside this thread.

We have some older systems still around here but my kids were never really gamers. They have not bought a new system in a very long time. So glad when they were not on any wish list anymore. It reminded me of desk top computers for a while when they were obsolete before they were close to their RIP time. Obsolescence by design is so irritating no matter what type of product it is.

Why are the older systems obsolete? Not sure what you mean. Unless they break you can still play them. You can still buy games for original Atari right on up! I never got into the whole concept that you have buy the latest and newest. The newest system we have is an original Wii.
