I had one bad experience years ago with a third party company selling plane tickets and have not used one since. For hotels, I will chance it but basically only use Hotwire, whom I have good luck with it.
i booked both hotels and the condo directly. I did get quotes for the one hotel and they beat all of them, the condo I have an amazing repeat customer discount and the one hotel has to be booked directly(excellent price and location)

dont think so, my implant upgrade is first! and that thing will cost at least 6 grand.
Is any of the implant covered by insurance? I have no clue how medical costs are covered down your way. I'm sure the upgrade is worth every penny but that's still a ton of money. Once Ratchet comes in you're welcome to camp out at my house and play it. it will be in during lawn mowing season :D right before we leave for Florida

I saw Star Wars on Thursday night and when I went to work a bunch of my students asked me how it was. Before I had a chance to answer a kid (who surprisingly was in class, as I have only had him in class a total of 4 times this quarter and we are in week six of it) blurted out one of the big surprises of the movie. The other kids looked shocked and crushed all at the same time. I was so TICKED off at that kid, as the others still wanted to discover it for themselves. They asked me if it was true, so I asked the spoiler kid if he saw the movie and he said no but he had read the plot details on the internet. So I just said that you can't believe everything you read on the internet and that I wouldn't confirm or deny. I felt like throttling the kid but later I took him aside and told him it was a jerk move to try to ruin things for people especially when he didn't have first hand information to even know if it was true. I kind of felt like a mom trying to keep up the ruse of Santa Claus for the other kids.
What ruse about Santa? Is there something my boys and I should know? Is he unwell? Behind schedule? Joining a commune? :cautious:

@MR FERRET and @MouseDreaming I finally did it. I earned my Beverly title as I made a gf/df/sugar free version of the magic cookie bar and the boys loved them. The hard part was finding a substitute for the sweetened condensed milk. I did it with soy milk, stevia and a bit of arrowroot powder. @betty rose I used Lily's df/gf/sf chocolate chips and they're really good. Not exactly cheap but very yummy.

I thought you earned your Beverley title back at the kids school dances :)

I think because the Jesus Christ SuperStar show is pretty much a jew take on the story of Jesus.
And they make it as a pop icon, not a god.
The creator of the series is not christian (andrew lloyd webber). Maybe that is why some conservative christians do not like the show at all.

Those objecting were devout Irish Catholics. Turning Him into a superstar was blasphemy in their thought process. I am guessing. Considering all the strange things that happened in the 60's in hindsight those young'ns of those times worshiping with louder music, guitars and thinking of Him as a SuperStar-really not so bad in retrospect. :cyclops:

I don't know if ours gets composted or not, but I don't know what else they would do with it.

Here they recycle it, private firms, organic fertilizers and wood byproducts. Before that landscaping castoffs were mixed in with landfill trash. With the lack of landfills in more urban areas here they have for the most part found ways to recycle it. Our town when it takes down trees they chip them and reuse the chips.

Those were great but so was being able to just do a walk up anywhere!

When my DD and I did the QS dining plan we went without any dining reservations. We hit 3 popular TS impromptu. She actually made one ADR for Prime Time during a rainstorm while we on the boat from Epcot to the Studios so we could eat and get out of the storm until it passed. We had enough time to get off the boat, enter park and pretty much be seated within a few minutes. Still we heard several people being turned away as walk ups. I think the hardest is when groups are above 4.

was a commodore 64 for me.hours loading up games off a cassette only for them to crash at the last minute. . . OY

I'm not sure what Atari it is. Up near the ceiling on a shelve, not going up there to look. It worked perfect, never had a problem with the games. I didn't hate this system 'cause it was simple fun. Who wouldn't like pong? He on the other hand was addicted to Space Invaders.
I wish it had a pause button for how many times we were late cause of the dang thing I bought. Made for a fun Christmas though.

Ha! So true.

I did most of my Christmas Shopping yesterday. Hours and hours of shopping. I headed over to the Woodfield Mall areas however I didn't enter the Mall. It is very built up around there with so many free standing stores and Stripmall areas for a mile in every direction around that place. I know how to navigate the back door entrances 'cause I lived around there over 30 years ago and the back streets didn't change much.

By evening I was seeing and hearing all sorts of emergency vehicles heading into Woodfield, different than the medical emergency I've seen for decades. Gulp. Eventually I heard rumors it was a fight in Victoria Secret. Lines make people go to the darkside too, talk about anger and hate.

no Christmas tree this year
I almost never have a Christmas tree. I always go to their homes and since my apartment is small, there isn't a lot of room to entertain, especially with small ones and early teens there is no real need to put one up. Besides, I hate Christmas or, at least, the Christmas season. It seems to bring out the worst in everyone. My dislike started years ago when I had jobs in businesses that were "against the wall" busy during that season. Long hours, little rest, dealing with grumpy people, etc.

Now I enjoy immensely my time with my family on Christmas itself, but, the rest of the time I get nothing from it and pretty much cannot wait until it's over. As a religious holiday, it's fine. As a commercial one, it sucks big time. OK, that's my true confession for the year. Hopefully, it didn't offend anyone as it is my personal feel based on my experiences. I am glad for people that get a lot out of the season, just not me.
