Welcome! Just jump in anytime. Sometimes, this thread moves so quickly, that it's hard to keep up. But no big deal--if busy, people might skip reading pages and begin again posting on the current page.

Due to the fact that some of the members have kids that also read chit chat, subjects to avoid (generally speaking) are anything you wouldn't want kids reading. Also, any deep discussions along the lines of either religion or politics tend not to turn out well (similar to other threads when these topics come up).

Other than those, we all chit chat about all kinds of stuff! It's a fun place, and also an informative place for so many subjects -- cooking, automobile repair, gardening, medical issues, sewing, vacations, the weather, international customs -- to name just a few!

Yes, that's exactly it! And exactly the reason how I ended up here, along with some of the others. I could not take all the negativity on the other threads, so I stalked, I mean followed @sxeensweet here one day, and never left! So glad I found these wonderful people, as they've kept me on the insane side these last 5 months.

The oversimplification by some is Starbucks hates Christmas and Jesus. People say things like this and to me anyhow it just lowers my tolerance for their opinion. Their cups on the whole about the true meaning of Christmas, more holiday-ish whimsical cups for 2 months. I find the red cups boring, reminds me college 'red' cups.

Thanks, I love the decorated cups. I don't drink Starbucks, so I had no idea that people can get crazy over a cup design, or lack of design.

Agreed...they are BORING. Not festive at all. At least put some snowflakes or something on it! But I think it's a waste of time protesting about which religion (or none) should be represented on the darned cup. Does it really matter?? It's a COFFEE CUP! Get a life, people!

I thought the same thing. A coffee cup, yowza!

Blizzard? I thought you were only going to get 3 inches!

It's only going to be around 4, but the winds, will be 45 to 60 mph. Technically it's a "blizzard" due to the winds. We are staying in and I'm baking a turkey breast with veggies and sage stuffing. And sweet potatoes. Yummy!

Yup, hubby grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, and that's just how those gorgeous mountains look! (I went to Colorado for the first time about 20 years ago.) Very nice paintings.

Very nice paintings! I'm a little jealous of your talent, I would love to paint or draw but I can barely draw a stick person.

I took art all the way through school. And some in college. Mainly it was modern art. Not my forte. I prefer a scene that speaks to me. Thank you for the complement!

This is why I make my own coffee - I just can't get over the prices!!

I'm not the best person to ask because I'm not a huge coffee drinker but nothing I have ever had there seems worth the price to me...and I'm not above paying a little extra for a treat. Guess it's just not my cup of tea.

Awww, thanks. So this chit chat thread is perplexing me a little bit (and yes, I just used "perplexing" in a sentence, whatever that means). So, do people kind of just come on here and just post whatever is on their mind? Like a stream of consciousness type thing? This seems like a very friendly place. Unlike the whale thread on the Sea World board. Or any tipping thread ever. Or the fix WDW thread. Or Katiebug101's Unmagical Day in the Magic Kingdom. This seems like sort of a safe haven.

I can't speak for anyone else, but this is my happy place.
