I've always wanted to learn how to quilt, I've seen such beautiful artwork displayed in quilting. But, not being able to sew a straight line, :D:eek:

My DD quilts. While the process isn't difficult it takes time and you can't be sloppy about measurements. I sew like I cook, without patterns. I get an idea in my head and have at it. Funny my Gran taught me both to sew and cook. The dozens and dozens of Halloween costumes I made, none had a pattern.

Same when I paint murals. I generally plagiarize the murals from paintings. I can paint but honestly I don't have that creative from scratch gene. I see someone else's creation adapt it by duplicating portions of other artists work. Many times my end result can be from 3 or 4 different pieces of someone else's art.

When I go on vacation I won't have any way to post while I'm gone but I promise to do a complete TR when I get back minus food pics as my dh has banned those.

No food pics...?!?!?! o_O  :jawdrop:

Thank you, I may post hubby's favorite paintings I did for his office, in the future. My soul comes out in my paintings. So many of my paintings have been sold.... but I hope they bring other's the joy I had in making them. I no longer paint, as my eye issues have interfered with that. It was so fun at the time. Life moves on and I found that spending time on here so rewarding. You are all so great and encouraging!:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull:
I wish I could paint! I don't have the eye for re-creation. I can kind of draw if I have a picture to look at, but it never looks quite right. I'm sorry you can't paint anymore!

I'm unwilling to join in the protests against Starbucks over a cup. Still I have to admit this is the most boring cup I've seen them launch for the holiday season. Years past they were whimsical and fun. Reminds me of Disney's decision years back to go generic with the universal Disney Parks stuff.

I miss it, but I've been thinking trying to take it back up. All my paintings were an emotional release for me. I had a dark period, then a bright period. When I stopped, I had grown tired, as it took a lot out of me to put emotions on canvas. Unless it was a still life.

Feel free to share. I love to see.

I think though that is how we all evolve. Me I still sew but mostly drapes. It isn't that I like sewing drapes, they are a lot of work the way I make them. More drapes are very expensive, often boring as heck and you have to look at them everyday. This way I get the style, color and pattern I want plus get to pick the length and fullness.

It has been about 10 years since I painted any murals. Ran out of walls and you can't have too much of that.

Interesting, Gaston only has snacks and beverages now. I don't eat messy stuff like that in that type of setting but I did see so many people devouring those Pork Shanks. Bet some guests will be sad when they go into Gaston's and find them off the menu.

That looks yummy, I was always drawn to the cinnamon rolls, as I love maple icing. Last time it was cold, and not appealing. What has happened there? It seems that they went from good to bad, in just a few month's.

Funny what you said that about murals. I had a mural wall. I painted one, grew tired of it, painted the wall white. Let it set for awhile then did a different one. I 've got several walls, with murals under the paint!:D:rolleyes:
