Yup, in my neighborhood in Southern Indiana we called all string instruments, fiddles...and used them for old fashion barn dances. My dad was a fiddle player and a square dance caller.:joyfull:

Wow. That's cool.

Oh, I always liked it in Gone With the Wind when Scarlett would say, "Oh, fiddle dee dee . . ." :) I wonder if that old saying came from the word, fiddles.

@MOXOMUMD , do you get many trick or treaters at your house on Halloween? I'm thinking there may be even more this year, because Halloween falls on a Saturday. I bought about 9 bags and I think that's probably enough. Some years I actually throw out bags at the end, because I don't like it sitting around tempting me. (Sometimes, I'll bring a few bags into work and share with the gang, too. :) ) It's just hard to predict how many kids come by; seems to be different every year. I think only one year we actually ran out of candy.

I used to get 2, but both of them are away at college now... :(

Glad I'm not the only non telephone person. Man, I hate that thing. I think I have a phone phobia...which is fun to say 10 times fast.

We must agree to agree...! ;)
I hate idle phone chit chat. Ironic, huh...?! :D
Phones are good for important, or emergency situations, but, otherwise, I hate talking on them. Phone conversations
annoy me.
Now, when it comes to modern phones, I really do love the texting and internet access. :)

Different provinces pay differently but, the average starting wages for teachers in Canada is around $50,000 plus there is two and a half months of paid summer vacation and another two weeks at Christmas and one week for March Break. There are also so many professional development days away from the classroom, the best medical insurance, employee assistance program, wonderful pension plans, etc. They have the best unions here that really protect the teachers.

Okay, I might be moving to Canada now....:cautious:;)

So yesterday, I finally watched the DVD I bought 3 weeks ago, of Cinderella. Thought the first half of the movie was boring. The second half was considerably better. But to me, the "stars" of the movie were the exquisite gold coach and the gorgeous blue gown that Cinderella wore to the prince's ball. Overall, I give the movie about a 70%, C rating.

I'm partial to the coach, because I saw it in person back in May at DHS. (Originally, the coach was only supposed to be at DHS through March, but luckily, the time was extended.) Let me tell you, that coach up close is spectacular. It was one of the most gorgeous, detailed, movie props I've ever seen.

The live action Cinderella was okay, but the animated one is way better!!

That must be a new custom, because I haven't had fondue in ages. Back when I did, there were no kisses for dropping your food into the fondue pot! :p

It is actually an old Swiss tradition. If women drop food off their fork into the fondue pot, they have to kiss a man. If a man does it, they have to buy everyone a round of drinks. Seems a little one-sided. Lol
