just seen the announcement. Afraid I dont know this chef.

But he gets bonus points for doing the Mexican tortilla soup correct.
I HATED what they did with the soup at coronado springs.
I mean.. seriously.. yellow corn??? tomato paste (that looks like it came from a can)??

Rick Bayless is quite known for his authentic Mexican cuisine. He has multiple restaurant, cookbooks, Food products, and a show on TV. His food is really good. It would be interesting if you ever eat at his restaurant to hear your perspective on how authentic it is.

He isn't turning out to be a governor for the people more the conglomerates, like being a governor is a dictatorship over democracy. I can't wrap my brain around continuing to receive lottery revenue and refusing to pay out winnings. To me that is fraud-ish. We are one big messed up state. I can't blame it all on him though we seem to elect one nut job after the next over the last few decades. What does that say about our population here with so many of our elected officials jailed. I want out. Fast. :cyclops:

*Disclaimer* Not intended to spark a political debate just an overall frustration with life in Illinois in Overall* :cautious:

This Wisconsinite can commiserate with you.

I use vinegar too to clean lots of stuff, magic erasers too. But fabric and vinegar are harsh. Salt in any form is also harsh on fabrics. We see the marks it makes on jeans and shoes in the winter let alone what various forms do to our roads. It takes a bit longer but it is a cheap weed killer and though acidic is not nearly as nasty to the enviroment as commerical weed killers are. Bleach also works well and quicker on weeds that form in sidewalk cracks, driveways etc., and more economical by the gallon vs weed killers. Gotta be careful with new windows though. Some of the newer UV windows can't be used with many home remedy cleaners.

I don't use it on vinegar on windows. More counters and appliances. So all good!

Is it a stationary one? I was looking up what it was and I noticed in the workout thread that you said it was for indoors and I didn't know how that would work!
It is a stationary bike, I love it. I rode one hour and 5 minutes yesterday, with no back issues or hip or knee issues. That hasn't happened ever, since I ruptured 3 discs, years ago. I'm so grateful the hubby researched this. We are not tall, I'm 5 ft. one, and hubby is 5ft 6 inches. And it works great for both of us. Hope this helps. I can give you the brand name, it's a n Exerpeutic. Hubby is currently doing 20 minutes. He has never been an exercise person, because of asthma. He loves it also.

Yes, that's what my mom wore, too! She had several pairs of those polyester pants with the seam. EVERY day...I don't think I ever saw her NOT in a pair of those pants except at a few weddings when she would wear a dress, but I could probably count those times on one hand!
I'm always in jeans. In Colorado you can go to the fanciest restaurant in nice dark jeans, and boots. Love that!

It appears I will not be here tomorrow. We have fall break and DH managed to finagle a day off, so we are heading to Den Haag to the Omniversum to see Panda: the journey home. And possibly Mysteries of the Unseen World...or something like that. And I can take the kids to the cupcake shop my friend and I found a few weeks ago when we were in Den Haag.
Have fun on your day off.

Mr. Ed? Did someone say Mr. Ed??!!! I LOVE Mr. Ed!!!!!!!!!! OMG, he was HILARIOUS. I used to especially love it when he got on the phone and started calling people, agencies, etc. I had more laughs over that silly show and have seen many episodes in reruns years later as well.

I agree, the jokes were really funny. I love Alan Young, a great comedic actor.

I hope you have a good day. I probably won't be on either. My parents are coming for a visit for a few days from far away so I will be paying attention to them.

Also, my son goes to his first sleepover with Beavers tomorrow night and I will need to gather many supplies. Went out tonight and bought him a thin self-inflating mattress, as it was on the list. That thing is darn cool!

So have a good weekend everyone, if I don't get the chance to check in.
We will miss you, have a great time with your parents.

Is anyone else excited about the announcement of Rick Bayless' restaurant going into Disney Springs? We have eaten at his Frontera restaurant in Chicago and enjoy some of his products that our grocery store sells and it is always been good. I think I might have to spend a month at WDW now with all the good places to eat!
I haven't heard about this. What kind of restaurant is it going to be?

With my asthma, we can't use most regular cleaners. My mom's cleaner is 1 cup vinegar + 1 cup alcohol + 1 cup water. Gets the job done, doesn't bother my asthma, so I can use it, and cheaper. We use it for most things, although we did find a toilet bowl cleaner and bathtub cleaner that I'm not sensitive to, and we have an enzyme cleaner for cat messes. Bleach may be used when I am not home.
Hubby and I both have asthma, and that's why we use vinegar as well. I've never tried adding alcohol. I'm doing that next time. I love all the helpful tips on here. Thanks.:)
