As far as stuff that doesn't like salt, use baking soda.

Is high proof rubbing alcohol approved for UV windows???

I believe baking soda like salt is a sodium product. UV film is not an approved product in Florida so rubbing alcohol might work there.

Good to hear. I was still wondering. My Dad had so many new food restrictions that annoyed the heck out of him, same with my FIL when he was still alive. (not what got him ultimately but actually kept him him kick'n longer)

My Dad gave up on the food restrictions a year after his quad bypass. After his recent issues (same time as your Dad) 5 years later his new arteries one is only 40% blocked and the rest are fine. At his age 88 Doc's are not concerned. He continues to eat as he pleases then just complains to my Mom constantly that he thinks he is going to die today. BTW, my Dad being an asbestos contractor thinks he has been dying since he was 62 years old. If true, it was a real slow slow death, what 26 years and counting??? If he was a woman he would have dying during childbirth. Oddly enough he only had one sister which had no children.

I'm a fan. I only have them in the windows her that face West. I've been in this home for 30 years and it has really helpped with reflecting heat, dry rot and fading of drapes and furniture fabric over what we originally had. For the small fraction it cost to upgrade it has more than paid for themselves many times over.

One of you will have to win a big jackpot and take us all. If @Gabe1 or I win, there is no telling when we might see the money. The governor is holding all Lottery winnings hostage.

He isn't turning out to be a governor for the people more the conglomerates, like being a governor is a dictatorship over democracy. I can't wrap my brain around continuing to receive lottery revenue and refusing to pay out winnings. To me that is fraud-ish. We are one big messed up state. I can't blame it all on him though we seem to elect one nut job after the next over the last few decades. What does that say about our population here with so many of our elected officials jailed. I want out. Fast.

Hubby just finished his bike ride. He liked it too! He said it didn't stress his body either. It's a keeper! Going to ride for 30 minutes this morning and another 30 this afternoon. I love doing this and going no where. Maybe I can find a travel show and pretend I'm going somewhere! Talk later!

I ride my real bike frequently. I love it.

Your comments remind me of yesteryear in the Wonders of Life Pavilion where you could ride the stationary bike through WDW. It was fun. I miss that pavilion.

It appears I will not be here tomorrow. We have fall break and DH managed to finagle a day off, so we are heading to Den Haag to the Omniversum to see Panda: the journey home. And possibly Mysteries of the Unseen World...or something like that. And I can take the kids to the cupcake shop my friend and I found a few weeks ago when we were in Den Haag.

Oh how I feel for you. This is day 6 for mine and I think it may finally have gone tonight...but we'll see when the meds wear off. I am so sorry you have to go through that especially when you are trying to study.

I hope you have a good day. I probably won't be on either. My parents are coming for a visit for a few days from far away so I will be paying attention to them.

Also, my son goes to his first sleepover with Beavers tomorrow night and I will need to gather many supplies. Went out tonight and bought him a thin self-inflating mattress, as it was on the list. That thing is darn cool!

Happy Friday and it looks like I may not get back on today either. My friends and I are going for our mani time today. I now realize one of the things I don't like about fall is no more Minnie pink or Figment purple on my nails for a while. I'm going with bordeaux seeing it's not on my diet it might as well be on my nails. I'm also going to the Friday farm market as the picking will be slim at both of the ones I go to I may need to go to both until they close.

Never had lamb with mint jelly, but, I love the taste of both lamb and goat.

My mother always had mint jam (on the side) when she served roast lamb dinner. It's an odd combination, but somehow I really liked it, and still do to this day.

That's interesting. Why can't they be used with new windows? (No rush to answer, considering I only clean windows about once a year . . . I'll never win the Good Housekeeping Award . . . ) Actually, I'm not sure exactly what kind of windows are here. I think the landlord replaced all the windows about 12 years ago, so I don't know if windows back there are the "newer" kind or not.

Doesn't anyone just use Windex anymore? That's all I've ever used.

I can't believe the size and strength of the hurricane heading towards Mexico. It may be worse than Katrina for the people it's heading for. I hope nobody is hurt. Sadly it looks very bad
