Yep, our last trip was in November for Thanksgiving and it was much more enjoyable, even though DD and I had colds for part of that trip. But that was when she was in pre-school. When we went to Hawaii last year for almost 3 weeks we got a talking-to from her elementary school about the hazards of keeping her out of school for so long. :grumpy:
Schools have sure made attendance the top priority. We took our daughter out, and the schools said nothing, except write a report about what you learned. :)

Umm, so this happened yesterday.

DD had her summer band concert yesterday. It was 7th and 8th grade orchestra followed by 7th and 8th grade band. Very nice. In a school gym. So, if you can picture it, the kids are on chairs on the gym floor in a semi circle facing the audience (in bleachers for the most part) with the conductor up front. Since it is a gym, there were a few parents that taped the concert while standing by the wall. To the side, out of the way. No problem.

Except one woman. She stood behind the orchestra kids, right in front of the conductor, and captured the whole thing on her IPhone. It was weird. I'm sure her kid was really happy about it, too. And she will probably be the most recognized person in town, because she is now on countless others' video. I should see if someone put it up on youtube.

The Springs is a nicely designed, aesthetically pleasing area. I enjoyed it when I was down there, mainly because there was something new to look at, for a change. The rebranding stops and starts over the years have been interesting, to say the least. ;)

The only time I go is during the day, so I can't speak for the nighttime crowds. I look at the Springs as a few hours one afternoon of my trip (on my way back from Typhoon Lagoon), and that's about it for me. It's a spread out, restaurant and shopping area with bowling and a theater complex. I'm not paying Disney prices to go and sit in a movie theater for hours, or to play a few strings of bowling either. So, I'll go to either Earl of Sandwich, or Wolfgang Pucks (nearby Earl's), and Ghiradelli. Then I'll poke around some stores and walk around. Done.
We basically have the same itinerary, except I might take a little time to sit at the Margarita Bar! :hungry:
