Umm, so this happened yesterday.

DD had her summer band concert yesterday. It was 7th and 8th grade orchestra followed by 7th and 8th grade band. Very nice. In a school gym. So, if you can picture it, the kids are on chairs on the gym floor in a semi circle facing the audience (in bleachers for the most part) with the conductor up front. Since it is a gym, there were a few parents that taped the concert while standing by the wall. To the side, out of the way. No problem.

Except one woman. She stood behind the orchestra kids, right in front of the conductor, and captured the whole thing on her IPhone. It was weird. I'm sure her kid was really happy about it, too. And she will probably be the most recognized person in town, because she is now on countless others' video. I should see if someone put it up on youtube.
There's one in every group! Same thing happened at my ds' concerts this year

I love my boys but sometimes:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: I went to the health food store and the raw no sugar or salt peanut butter they grind there was on sale so I got 2 pounds. My boys asked for sandwiches for lunch so I went to get it out it was gone that and all the bread! 2 pounds and a whole loaf of bread gone since yesterday!:arghh::banghead: I didn't even get any. That stuff's not cheap! I love them, but today I'm not sure I like them!

That's strange. I'm surprised she wasn't asked to move. Why would she want to stand behind and get video? Does she really like recording the back of (I'm assuming) her kid's head?

Perhaps I'm fashion impaired, but I never understood what looked so bad about them? They were practical, and you could get them in various colors, sizes, etc. Mine was small, and the pockets were in the front of me. It was so convenient and safe, because you always could keep an eye on your money, credit cards, etc.
Perhaps.. they clash too much with the normal clothing?
Some bags just do not look nice lol.

My bag for example.. made me look REALLY FAT on photos while on my Disney Cruise to Alaska last year.

The Springs is a nicely designed, aesthetically pleasing area. I enjoyed it when I was down there, mainly because there was something new to look at, for a change. The rebranding stops and starts over the years have been interesting, to say the least. ;)

The only time I go is during the day, so I can't speak for the nighttime crowds. I look at the Springs as a few hours one afternoon of my trip (on my way back from Typhoon Lagoon), and that's about it for me. It's a spread out, restaurant and shopping area with bowling and a theater complex. I'm not paying Disney prices to go and sit in a movie theater for hours, or to play a few strings of bowling either. So, I'll go to either Earl of Sandwich, or Wolfgang Pucks (nearby Earl's), and Ghiradelli. Then I'll poke around some stores and walk around. Done.

Pretty no doubt. The last time I was in DTD I did both a day and a night visit. The one thing I noticed both times was the guests not carrying loads of bags which could be room delivery for some but the total lack of lines to pay for merchandis. Walk right up. I can believe on weekends especially the bars being a place to go. The restaurants once everyone has done something once I wonder how often guests will keep returning at those prices. Earls, fair price for Disney QS is always packed as is Ghiradelli's at night. Same somewhat for the high end stores, will they survive. I know from what my DS explained over the years how much revenue came from the Brazilian guests, rooms, types of admission, merchandise, just a huge outlay of money above and beyond what other demographics of the world plunk down. Now that their economy is correcting and has leveled to put it very mildly, I wonder about some of these stores having that many guests financially able to shop in these non Disney type venues, Disney stuff is expensive but nothing in comparison some of the Springs stores popping up. I saw lots of folks window shopping the high end sunglasses but never actually saw anyone purchasing.

I know the original pitch was believing guests would tack on another day just for Springs, it being an answer to guests wandering over to Universal which at the time of Springs pitch Universal was going gang busters with expansion plans for resorts and new attractions. Plus having brought kids to Disney for decades you can only shop with kids so long and if you are going shop till you drop the last thing you are going to do is then plop them in a high end restaruant and expect them to be happy campers. At best at night you have a couple of hours with kids before they crash after being in the heat and parks, same too for resort guests.

Like I said, the jury is still out and for a few years guests local and vacationing are going to check it out. Longevity I wonder about. I tend to believe the overwhelming majority are going to be like you, Earl, ice cream, few Disney Shops and out of there.

It actually was worse than that the bread they ate was my homemade gluten free sunflower seed sweet bread I made yesterday and an entire pint of homemade mixed berry jam! I'm not doing any cleaning for a week and that includes my bathroom. They are going to pay the hard way. I'm still trying to figure out how 4 boys ate that much food after dinner:confused::rolleyes::arghh::banghead:

They're back! I've seen them at several places. Forever 21 and Rue 21 for cute ones and Travelon for the sturdy basic types. Me I'll stick with my plush Figment!:D

I love your Figment!

I saw fannie packs at Aeropostale this summer. I wonder if they will make a comeback? Or if it will be a marketing FAIL?
