Despite the way my story begins, no TMI alert necessary.

So, Hubby and I are in bed.
He is asleep and I am reading. Holly is at the bottom of the bed, and Max, the sketchiest cat in the universe comes in to say good night. First she mauls Holly for a minute. Then she rubs her face all over my book jacket. And then she goes nose to nose with Mike.

Mike wakes up with a tremendous start, scaring the carp out of the cat, who launches three feet straight in the air - using my chest as a springboard.

Long story short, I am left with two deep puncture wounds, tapering to long, but not deep scratches.

So, I go in the bathroom and dab off the blood and spray my wounds with Bactine. Yes, Bactine - because unlike the other sissies in this house I am not afraid of a little antiseptic spray. So there.

The down side of pet ownership is that somehow pets think we are trees to climb, springboards, and our body parts are places to plop down on (they particularly love feet), and proceed to go to sleep on them. I've yet to figure it out. When I come in the front door, Jack will be there all excited (he's a bull in a china shop to begin with) and will go into a frenzy, sometimes resulting in him stepping on my feet--with his claws momentarily digging or scraping. It's summer, and I'll have sandals on . . . thanks Jack.

There are countless other examples, as you well know. But the part that gets me is just oblivious they are to what they are doing to us!!! :in pain: ;)

I'm in the jury is still out on Springs replacing DTD. The same issues are still there rebranding or not. DTD has been reworked and rebranded so many times now and then the Hyperion fail. Guess that is why the Boardwalk works. Not so much of a melting pot of locals and guests at Boardwalk.

The Springs is a nicely designed, aesthetically pleasing area. I enjoyed it when I was down there, mainly because there was something new to look at, for a change. The rebranding stops and starts over the years have been interesting, to say the least. ;)

The only time I go is during the day, so I can't speak for the nighttime crowds. I look at the Springs as a few hours one afternoon of my trip (on my way back from Typhoon Lagoon), and that's about it for me. It's a spread out, restaurant and shopping area with bowling and a theater complex. I'm not paying Disney prices to go and sit in a movie theater for hours, or to play a few strings of bowling either. So, I'll go to either Earl of Sandwich, or Wolfgang Pucks (nearby Earl's), and Ghiradelli. Then I'll poke around some stores and walk around. Done.

Does anyone else not see people's avatars? I have a white box on all of them.
That would be me... It's a selfie of me on a typical March day snowstorm in Vermont. It says it all I think.
Fannie bags are definitely a great invention - just wish they looked more attractive.
The solution to that is to take it off just before you step foot on the catwalk. Otherwise, no one cares what you use, well, except those that are dead certain that they have a handle on what is and what isn't fashion and that it matters. If you look down they are all probably wearing knee socks with sandals. That how much they know. I say... long live the f anny pack!

Fiji was heavenly! We decided to go with Fiji instead of Tahiti, mainly because Fiji had more all-inclusive resorts and was cheaper overall. Although the resort we stayed at definitely was not cheap! Only 30 or so guests could stay there at a time, so very personal, private, and exclusive. But worth every penny! :cat:
I'm so jealous!;) Glad you got to have your honeymoon in such a beautiful place, I love anything tropical!

I love Gilligan's Island too. I have a couple of seasons on DVD and when my 10 yr old niece was visiting a couple months ago she pick one of the seasons to watch. She has good taste! Next time she visits I might have to show her Bewitched or I Dream of Jeanie, she hasn't watched those and they were great shows too.
Those were great shows! Bewitched was my favorite, I loved Tabitha. She was such a pretty little girl.
