Yes, I'm just too old to be carrying around all that extra weight. And, of course, I feel better.
I was pretty heavy back when I was in my mid-thirties, as well, and decided to lose a bunch of weight then, too. I got down to as low as 180-ish. Dwifey was tellin' me I was gettin' too thin, and the doc was tellin' me I still needed to lose 10 pounds...! :hilarious:

That's actually very common with people who have lost a decent amount of weight. You and your doctor know what your target weight should be (based on many variables in your own particular medical record). Yet, the people that know you are in shock trying to adjust to the "new" you, and then start to get worried if they think you're getting a bit too thin (in their eyes). They still have an image of the "bigger" previous you, and are doing these subliminal body type comparisons in their mind. They then determine what you "should" look like after dieting.

Yet the funny part is that (hypothetically) if they didn't know you at all (when you had the extra weight on) and just saw you for the first time out on a street, they wouldn't think you were too thin. They'd simply see an average built man, and that would be that!

@Gabe1 , any vacation plans for the summer? We're probably just doing some brief staycations. This coming weekend there is a Native American pow wow in my area, so we'll probably go to that, maybe on Saturday. :)

The Pow Wow sounds very interesting. If you go report back. Many of the tribes in our area host them and I have wanted to go and learn more about their culture, I just haven't gotten around to it.

Off to take a nap. I'm sleepy and thunderstorms are coming in. Surprise, surprise, surprise..(as Gomer liked to say on the old Andy Griffith show);)
Nothing like a good NAP TIME!

speaking of commodity...
Today has been amazing.. yesterday rained all night (from 2:00 am to 6:00am) dropping the temps a lot, then all the day was overcast.. making the entire day exquisite to go around.

As you said, unless you can try it on first, it makes it difficult to order online. Sometimes when I order online, I'll order two sizes, just to make sure my feet fit correctly in one of them, and then return the other pair.

Oh my, does the buy multiples return the ones that don't fit thing ever bring back fun memories of my Disney Store management stint. I get it, especially online, but, boy howdy, could it be a pain, in the end...
When grandma bought 3 different sizes of dresses and shoes for 3 different granddaughters, it was great for your hourly sales figures for the ones you were assigned to. But, it really suc*ed if all the ones that didn't fit we're returned during another later shift you were responsible for to totally destroy your sales hour goal. Even worse when it wasn't your managment sale in the first place, and it all came back during one of your shifts.
The worst was the same thing being done from an online purchase.
Grandma would do the exact same thing. All online sales could be returned to your local Disney Store.
The kicker...the online folks still got credited with the sale, but, the return went against our sales...!

Yep, that's retail...!!! :joyfull: :D ;) :)

It's the time of year. The summer always kicks up more heavier downpours due to all the heat and humidity. I think maybe you're probably driving more as well, since you got your job a few months ago. Maybe that's why you're more aware of the heavier rain on the roads now.

It's actually starting to finally feel more like one of our typical summers around here. No appreciable rain in about two weeks, temps in the mid-high 90's, heat indices well over 100...! :)

That didn't happen to me at all. At this point I have lost over 70 lbs. over the last 3 years. I have done it with no fan fair, didn't even tell people that I was doing it. I'm down almost 10 inches on my waist line, have been buying new "smaller" clothes, have been way more active and able to do things I hadn't been able to do in years. Know what? No one has noticed, notta, zilch, zero (or for @JenniferS...zedilch and zedero). I can understand if you gain weight why no one would say anything, but, it would seem like a positive to lose it. OR I was so big to begin with that 70 pounds doesn't even show. Either way, it is hard to keep motivated that way.

Has anyone stayed at AOA? The reason I am asking is because I am undecided between AOA and PORS for our next trip. It will be 3 adults (me, DW and my sister) and 2, 3 year old's in one room. I am leaning towards PORS but DW towards AOA. Thoughts?

We stayed at POR for our first two family trips in '01 and '04. Loved it both times! We also spent more time at the resort when the kids were younger. We tend to go, go, go these days. We rented a pedal car, went to the fishin' hole, spent more time at the pool on Ol' Man Island, etc.. It's hard to beat IMO.

We also stayed at AoA in a Cars suite in July of '12, and absolutely loved it, too!

All that being said, AoA is quite a haul from MK, and, from what I understand, is considered/priced (a family suite for 6) like a moderate lately anyway.
Provided the pricing info is correct (I haven't checked recently), I'd, personally, choose POR. :)
