You know, after seeing the pub food and how tasty it looked, the gordon ramsay shows.. and other things...
I still have no idea why theres this stereotype of "British People have the worst food" still going around.

I Mean, Its not like they eat Fish and Chips 24/7!
Its almost as bad as blasting americans because "they only eat McDonalds 24/7".

I know I found the food quite tasty. We made a conscious choice to eat in pubs but there were a lot of different restaurants that looked like it had good food as we passed. There was an Italian place that looked great as we walked by and it was always packed and there was a Lebanese place nearby that looked good too. Jamie Oliver had a culinary center by us too that looked interesting, it was a market but your could also order food cooked or learn how to cook the food there too.

We were to get to 95 today with the highest dew point making the feel like 110. And yes I am going to actually say this, thanks for the mega storm 'cause it knocked down the the temps and the feel like. It wasn't the heat it was that dew point that was making the air feel solid. Suppose to be hot again tomorrow. Summers here! :inlove:

I don't mind the hot temperatures at all, I just think of our winter temps and don't complain at all. I am loving our weather today though supposed to hit mid 80's and there is a lovely breeze again.

Wow. This has got to be the coolest thing I've read in a very long time!! The details are fascinating on quite a few levels. I was also intrigued by the fact that the military people (you mentioned in a later post about this same subject) said it would be a good idea to remove whatever (equipment, etc.) was left in your basement, by the former resident who worked for Martina Marietta, so that the jets wouldn't land there?!! Amazing.
I agree, I've always wondered what would have happened, if I had told the military what I saw. About the stuff in the basement...we took it out immediately. I personally thought the UFO, must have been a military experiment, and maybe wasn't meant to see it. It was a week-end, in broad daylight. So I'm not sure...it looked like a flying saucer, rocking back and forth, it was starting to put down in a field across the road. The two F 15' came up from Colorado Springs, surrounded it one on each side. It rose up and flew away at an amazing speed. The military couldn't keep up. Hubby was working in the basement, I kept yelling for him to come up, but it was over so fast. I've never seen anything after that last incident. Sure was puzzling.

Thank you Betty. You are very kind.
I've been sick all week. Nothing major - just a summer cold, but with swollen glands, mild fever and a wicked sore throat.
Finally feeling a bit better today. Just in time to go to the memorial service of a dear, dear man, on what would have been his 93rd birthday.
RIP Harvey, a true darling in every sense.

Sorry to hear about your cold, they stink! And condolences on the loss of your loved one it is tough to lose the ones we care about.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
My guess is that you are in the second row, in the blue and white dress, standing next to the teacher.
Nope. That's Teri C.
Thanks though, I always thought she was the prettiest girl in class when we were younger.

If it's any help ... my Mom was either 9 months pregnant, or actually in the hospital for 10 days (yes, that's how long they kept you back then), so I clearly dressed myself that morning.

Just got back from a late dinner/early breakfast with DWifey and our 3 kiddos.
We spent the evening at a swim party for the pediatric cancer non-profit that both our DD's are now on the BoD of.
Such incredible stories of survival, but, also, so much pain.
Just so proud of both of them for wanting to help others going through such incredibly difficult times.

Out for now, gang...
The sweetest of dreams to all...!
Laterrrrrrr...!!! :)
That's awesome. One of my best friends is a pediatric oncology nurse.
