They have the best selection of everything for all ages and isn't as expensive. I'm not sure where you got "consecutive poop cruises" as there was one due to a fire that was immediately put out. They have since rehauled the fleet for that problem. If you do some homework on it you'll find Royal Caribbean has had the most onboard fires/accidents.

Even with a CM discount my DS trip on the Breeze was cheaper than a Disney Cruise. I think there were 8 of them and nobody got sick and had a blast. He also needs to have a vacation. The CM discounts are great benefits but sometime they too don't want to be flagged as an Employee. All the pictures of his cruise and yours were amazing, especially the food.

no, when I mean consecutive poop cruises.. was when the engines failed in 3 different ships in less than 6 months apart.
in 2 cases they lost full power.. in 2 cases they lost full steering.. and 2 cases.. one had to get third party help.
in one of the 3 cases.. the ship limped back to their homeport.

Carnival Triumph (the official poop cruise)
Crown Princess (sewage problems)
Carnival Ectasy, Dream, Legend, Elation (propulsion issues, Dream being the worse as overflowing toilets and half the ship stuff was working)

Note that this was all on the same year.
Pretty sure Carnival reached bottom on 2013.

as for Royal Caribbean.. they definitively had the most "fires".
But I we take into account the full brands of Carnival vs Royal Caribbean.
the Carnival brand has more ships and more accidents ;)

I personally like the ride stops, especially in Haunted Mansion. We got a couple good pictures of the dining scene.
I actually had SE stopped briefly for us once. My daughter had just turned 2 and decided just at the beginning of the descent to fall asleep--like a rock! When we got to unloading I could not wake her up and I could not lift her up because I was still mending from a prior surgery. My ex, who was riding behind us had to get her out. I was so embarrassed but the CMs were so nice about it. My daughter didn't wake up until he put her in the stroller and she was mad she missed the ending. :joyfull:

But this is 2015 and the ENTIRE Carnival line has been/is in the process of being refurbed. It's not like they are having a problem getting customers, three of the cruises we were hoping for are sold out except for the spa cabins. Whatever, I'm not going to argue about it. Carnival is the "FUN ships" and I'll enjoy them again. We will be doing an RC cruise if The Metal Cruise is booked on them in 2017 but with over 50 bands playing, we won't be paying that much attention to the ship. ;)

There is a reason that Carnival is less expensive that DCL. DCL is a premium cruise line and Carnival is not. With a premium cruise line you pay a premium price. Same reason you pay more for a cruise on Celebrity. Not hating on Carnival as my parents go on their cruises all the time because Carnival has a ton of itineraries and are inexpensive. They love them

However with the premium price you pay on a cruise line for DCL, the expectations are also higher. If they did not meet these expectations I would not pay and would stick to Royal C or start sailing Carnival.

In the end, it is all a matter of preference and what is most important to you.
Yep, I'm a cheapa*s.

Yeah, good thing that they hit bottom so they could rebuild.

The CEO really had an uphill battle to restore the image of Carnival. Good thing the whole " band on a cruise" is working. And as far I know, there hasn't been any major issue with Carnival.
