The rich keeps getting richer. Nicky Hilton married a Rothschild the other day. I'm not sure what they both do for a living other than both being heirs to a fortune, where Rothschild is worth more money.
We have a lot of private planes flying at night, the TV's sound helps when they go over, so not to jar me awake. I wish there were rules about flying between midnight and 5 AM.I can't sleep with sound. When I first moved out on my own I would sleep with the tv on with the sound down. I think it was a combination of being scared being by myself in a new place (I wasn't far past 18) and thinking the tv gave me comfort. It took a few months to get over that and turn the tv off.
Peter Pan is likely one of my least favorite ride *ducks and hides* Don't hate the ride by any means but I put it in the classification of the Tiki Birds, I can take it or leave it. Far from a must do.
Coming out of the produce center yesterday a new thrift shop opened. I didn't go in but there was a floor lamp I'd easily value at $100 in the front window for $11. I kinda look at it like recycling. My DD last 3 years of college hunted down college text books. Paying cents on the dollar over taking the easy way out at the bookstore made her feel really good.
I also admired my DS University. The year he started there they went to having a fee for text books. He paid $250 a semester to rent books vs the $1000 he paid at his first college he started at. It is odd how this varies in education. Where I went to HS everyone has to buy text books, a sham for high school, my kids were just given theirs for the year just like elementary school.
New just isn't necessary for everything. Me cars are a thing. When I get a car I drive it till it won't drive any longer. One of the poorest investments. At least property generally appreciates vs depreciates.
I always thought that the Streets of America was pretty creative, not necessarily new creative, but, very much Main Streetish creative. But, the original "studio" theme left little room for WOW creative. That is the problem I always had with the FL studios. Minus the Tower that park really lacks in any creative architecture whatsoever.
Really lacks overall any WoW factor that the other parks have.
I was happy to see Sunset built, the park needed it. It has always struggled for an identity though and still does. Slam Rock'n next to Tower and flop to Beauty and it is puzzling what the imagineers were going for.
I like the sidewalks, nice to see a design, instead of a slab of concrete!Good. The street is now a commercial road with wide sidewalks. The twin towers in the background is where my destination is.

I remember listening to band music, while in the car...years back, it was broadcast from the Roosevelt Hotel. I never did know where it was.Sunset Blvd is my favorite part of Hollywood Studios. I really like the theming and the background music. I do love some 1940's swing music though.
I have Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) from my years in the printing business. Most of my life I don't even notice it, but, in a totally quiet room it might as well be a bugle. TV never helped that, but, fans or other equipment that made a steady, but, not, overbearing noise, seems to work for me in blocking out or overriding the ringing. I cannot sleep in total quiet.I always seem to need sound. During the week I generally have talk radio going from 9am till about 6pm. Can't say I pay close attention but it keeps my brain from drifting to the dark side. I do that at night too. I don't turn the TV off, it is a distraction from my thoughts. I wake to weird shows in the morning from Raymond to Sponge Bob, very disconcerting first thing in the morning.![]()
I have the same situation, I've been known to hold on to the controller, and switch channels late at night. Sometimes I'm listening to a Spanish channel, and I don't understand that language!I always seem to need sound. During the week I generally have talk radio going from 9am till about 6pm. Even at WDW, sometimes it depends upon the Teacup that you're in. I've also had some that were very hard to spin. Other times (although not recently . . .), I've spun around like a top!![]()
(It may be my imagination, but I really think that they ALL used to spin more, years ago. Nothing surprises me now--I wouldn't put it past them to tone down the spinning mechanism, due to complaints from some parents that they spun too fast for their kids, and the kids got scared . . .) But truly, this is just speculation on my part; it just seems to be a trend here with some of the rides. Example: Look at Space in WDW; when they added that stupid trim brake toward the end, it killed the thrill of the drop.

We do the same with cars, I still have my 2003 Toyota Echo, and except for replacing the battery, it's still running great!Coming out of the produce center yesterday a new thrift shop opened. funnily, I used to sleep very nicely with the vibration humm of our old central A/C unit.
Now after my dad's passing. I always get up instantly on any vibration. I fear some thief might enter by forcing doors open..etc..
speaking of stuff..
I'm angry in ways I cant describe right now.
Our president as been the worst piece of s... my country has faced.
He as been selling or ruining every government owned company.. ruining the insurance and health care as well...already breaking apart the company that gives the most to the coffers (needed to run the country). Aka PEMEX..
Also has been a total inept in stopping the NARCs.. infact, its rumored that he made a pact with a few of them.
And now they barely stop real narcs. Hell, the military even killed civilians, who had formed defence groups to stop the narcs from terrorizing their towns.
And now.. just a mere day after this clown(the president) left with a gigantic groupie (of more than 350 people, including family members.. as a total waste of resources) to france. One of the top narcs that were recaptured a few years ago, escaped today.
This guy is a monster.. has a fortune near the top 50 of FORBES and can easily topple small countries.
I'm seriously ashamed of how dirty and crappy the political class of my country is.
At this rate we will be in the same levels of an African Nation with barely any control.
But instead of having rebellions of a random General wanting a coup d'etat.. we will get narc wars.
