Due to kids schedules, there is no vacation for us this summer. So, please keep all the pictures coming! I feel like I am visiting all kinds of great places, and learning so much!:)
We had to skip WDW last year because of the cruise. We'll be in the area in the fall and are hoping to fit in a MNSSHP into our schedule. It may be next year but another cruise may be in the works too.

I always fall asleep in front of the TV, last night I slept for an hour, then turned the weather channel and listened until midnight. ;)
I can't sleep with sound. When I first moved out on my own I would sleep with the tv on with the sound down. I think it was a combination of being scared being by myself in a new place (I wasn't far past 18) and thinking the tv gave me comfort. It took a few months to get over that and turn the tv off.

The Dreams show started at park close, and after the show was done the cast members were very serious about getting guests out of the park. I was a little disappointed as one of my favorite things to do at the American parks is find a bench at night and relax. I did get some good almost empty night pictures though, as hubby had to go to the bathroom before we left the park.

Hah. What's with the magic band?

It came from a top ten list of things to do with your magic band post trip.

Oddly today I sent my DD to my room to grab a roll of that blue painters tape I had hanging on a rung of basket on my bedroom dresser. The normally bright girl couldn't find it despite exact description of where I knew (I believed) it was. Oy. What I thought was a roll of painters tape was in fact a blue magic band from 2 trips ago hung over the the post of the basket. The moment your kid rightfully looks at you.....:cyclops:

Yea, I really want to go back there too sometimes, but, it's just so frustrating.
I don't get it at all...why would you do that to your forums...?!?!?!?!

Best I can think is a general lack of interest. Should have disappeared a couple years ago. Went from vibrant to grave yard, why have that hanging around. When all the moderators quit even that wasn't a wake up call. Go figure. It was kinda sad. I was happy to find so many of us here though.

So glad our HS is finally moving to this schedule. My poor boy spent everyday of his Christmas break doing hours of school work, only took off Christmas. He and his dad were off to NOLA on New Year's day, so he really tried to be done. Instead, he came back to the hotel room around 9 or 10 at night, and he would put in some more hours until about 1AM. Mostly for an AP English class. So yes, these kids really do need a true break.

Of course the schedule change starts after he graduates. It won't help him, but my daughter hopefully won't have to have breaks that aren't breaks. Remains to be seen if the elementary district will follow suit.

Yeah I am still not overly impressed with some of the thought processes of high school. The amount of packets and books to be read over Summer Break is getting daunting and most of these kids work over the summer. I know they are trying to boost their test scores but all this extra work doesn't seem to be raising the scores. The self educating over breaks doesn't seem to viable. My DS did half and half with finals before and after Christmas. DD did all prior to Christmas. So much better despite going back mid August.

That is the problem I always had with the FL studios. Minus the Tower that park really lacks in any creative architecture whatsoever.

Really lacks overall any WoW factor that the other parks have.
most buildings at DHS were inspired by actual buildings in California.
