Oh boy! Water pump fun...!!! :joyfull: ;)
Haven't done one in years. The "funnest" one I did was on my BIL's '81 Chevy Chevette. Sounds like it woulda' been pretty easy, but, turns out it involved timing belt fun, too!

The water pump on youngest DD's '01 GMC Sierra has been leaking for quite some time. Apparently, that model year is notorious for starting to leak and then slowly doing so for a long time without totally failing.
Not planning on replacing it anytime soon, as water (with a little coolant ;)) is relatively cheap, and she's planning on selling it soon and getting another ride anyway. :)
i wish that was all this one was doing. I've never had one blow like this before. There was so much antifreeze in the engine compartment, I couldn't tell where it came from. I started adding water to the radiator and it started pouring out as fast as I was putting it in. But it sure made it easy to see where the leak was! :) I went back with OEM parts, not worth taking a chance. I'm just glad it didn't fail on a trip to Oklahoma!

Cute picture, and not only is it Friday, but many of us aren't working today--getting this day off :joyfull: since the 4th is on a Saturday this year. I had fun this morning puttering around in different stores and then getting groceries (our supermarkets are closed tomorrow).

However, I even did a little housework (that doesn't happen very often . . . :p). I had bought a new rubber bath mat for the tub, so I cleaned out the tub and tiles in the bathroom. It's nice and sparkling clean now! So, I went back to the bathroom to gawk at my clean tub and tiles housework masterpiece :inlove: , and the nice new bathmat. Guess what DOG had made himself at home on the new rubber bathmat inside the tub???!!! He's never done that before; yet all of a sudden, he decides this afternoon, that this is going to be another one of his hang-outs??!!

Sounds like you are very mechanically inclined, to be able to fix a truck all by yourself. That's very impressive.

I haven't seen a push mower in many years. That was the only kind that my father and brothers ever used. Everyone else on our street had the power ones, but my father flat out refused to pay the money for one of those. Every few years, he'd take it to the local hardware store (remember when those were plentiful--in every town, before the giants like Home Depot, etc. took away all the business), and the man in the hardware store would sharpen the blades for him.

Have to say that my father had a good point about it always being reliable. You see, he "inherited" that same push mower from HIS father . . . that mower had been around for many more years than I had been alive! ;)
To be truthful, it's not the old revolving blade push mower, it's a gas mower, but it's not self-propelled. But it's more exercise than the rider mower or pulling the bush hog with the tractor. :)

Yes, so everyone be nice to bamacmac! Although I already know you will be. :inlove:

But doesn't look like anyone is on, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for everyone to reveal themselves. :D
Hey there are a few of us on, we are people, even though we like to be here!;):hilarious: I didn't check the time, my mistake. I'm having nightmares about that time.... Sorry catmom46. The oldest person gets to make the most mistakes.

I come home +2, I guess that isn't bad for 2 weeks of eating out everyday with an adult beverage or 3 to boot.
That's great even though, hubby and I split most things (except my maragarita's) I always gain. But, I have to say it's worth it. I had salad today, and salad for dinner. It's the 4th with bar-b-que tomorrow. Oh, well there is always next week!

I seem to always remember them goin' out pretty quickly once they started leaking, but, they always seemed to give at least a little warning.
Yep, I'd go with the OEM parts in that case, too. Don't wanna' replace it again any sooner than ya' hafta'...! :)
