Reminds of old Quarry Lake here. We used to hang out there a lot (and get run off by the cops, too ;)) when we were in HS.
Lots of cliffs to jump off of, and a favorite place for people who stole cars to drive them off into after they took 'em for a joy ride.
We used to snorkel down to the cars at the bottom in the shallower parts.
It's now all surrounded by development, and they use it for aquatic sports/fitness. :)

I haven't been back to Indy for years, we had a lot of quarry's around the southern part of state. They were always "off limits", didn't keep kids from going there every summer. Fun times , when you got tired of rules and pools!;)

Sounds like you are very mechanically inclined, to be able to fix a truck all by yourself. That's very impressive.

I haven't seen a push mower in many years. That was the only kind that my father and brothers ever used. Everyone else on our street had the power ones, but my father flat out refused to pay the money for one of those. Every few years, he'd take it to the local hardware store (remember when those were plentiful--in every town, before the giants like Home Depot, etc. took away all the business), and the man in the hardware store would sharpen the blades for him.

Have to say that my father had a good point about it always being reliable. You see, he "inherited" that same push mower from HIS father . . . that mower had been around for many more years than I had been alive! ;)
I didn't know what a power mower was, until I got married. Hubby bought one , so I could mow the grass. (so nice of him, ha).

We were on the regular DP when I lost the 7. Although I don't recall it being tons of food like so many people complain. I thought it was just the right amount. We did have a lot of leftover snack credits, but we used those for souvenirs, which we planned to get anyway. :hungry:
We used our last day leftover snack credits on Disney Pez dispensers for my daughter's collection.

Happy Friday everyone! Just finished last night's project, replacing the water pump on DW's 7.3L turbo diesel truck. It failed catastrophically Thursday night - luckily just before she got to our driveway pulling the horse trailer, so she was able to get it next to the machine shed before anything bad happened to the motor. It's nice outside now, so me thinks I am going to get out the push mower and get some exercise - I have to lose that Disney 15! (Well actually more than that, but I can't blame it all on Disney.)
Actually, I blame Meg! :p

Oh boy! Water pump fun...!!! :joyfull: ;)
Haven't done one in years. The "funnest" one I did was on my BIL's '81 Chevy Chevette. Sounds like it woulda' been pretty easy, but, turns out it involved timing belt fun, too!

The water pump on youngest DD's '01 GMC Sierra has been leaking for quite some time. Apparently, that model year is notorious for starting to leak and then slowly doing so for a long time without totally failing.
Not planning on replacing it anytime soon, as water (with a little coolant ;)) is relatively cheap, and she's planning on selling it soon and getting another ride anyway. :)

We've never owned a push reel mower, but, we had a coupla' neighbors that did, and I sure do remember using them around my grandparents farmhouse. :)

Dad was always talking about water pump troubles, he did the same thing!
