So, tomorrow, I'll introduce Pebbles (my cat) to my grandmother's chihuahua and her cat Tiffany, and begin the process of conditioning her (Pebbles) to her new home at my grandmother's condo (where my mom also lives). Pebbles demands constant attention. I hope this works out!
I'm sure your family will look after her with great care. They must be animal lovers, with a dog a cat and dog. Try not to worry.

in other news.. today was insane.. I had to get my car for repairs again.
they insist the engine mounts are not bad, but the engine twists awful ( I seen the mechanic stress test)
they think its the gearbox and the breaks.. we'll see.
but thats not the bad part..
The bad part is.. my mothers jeep started to fail an hour after we left the first car..
and I had an urgent appointment to remove my stitches.. not fun.
So I went there.. got my stitches out.. then to a mechanic.
It seems the engine has some oil blockage and they have to clean the entire engine.
So.. now we have no cars for the full weekend + 1 day (because they only work half day on saturday).

Worst part.. was to use 2 buses and a lot of walking to get back home.
The walking went kinda bad.. I hurt my bad leg again :/
Just when I was recovering.. bleergh

so.. thats the rant of today.
Sympathy like. Sending prayers and pixie dust.

I have a first cousin (Kattie) who is getting married in NY while I'll be away in Israel. The whole family will be flying to NY for the wedding except me. I feel real bad about that. My aunt (mom's sister) and uncle have three natural daughters (two are married) and they also have an adopted daughter from China (in college) and an adopted son from China (in grade school).

Their oldest daughter (Jana) is very good friends with the estranged daughter of Steve Jobs (Lisa). Lisa went to Jana's wedding in NY a few years ago but did not stay for the reception. I just learned that Lisa will be at Kattie's wedding too. I didn't get a chance to meet Lisa at Jana's wedding.

I guess I can have someone carry a phone around and FaceTime the wedding for me. I am beyond upset that I will not be able to make it! Ugh

That's disturbing that they are not better prepared to alter the screening process, in a way that is more educated for specific medical conditions. Do you have any cochlear implant groups in Mexico (and/or the U.S.A.) that might be able to draw up some sort of proposal to submit to the TSA authorities that would allow for more reasonable screening procedures, for those with cochlear implants? (Asking a traveler with cochlear implants to get into a deep sensor is appalling.)

Actually, if a proposal was physician-driven, that might give it more credibility to get pushed through the proper channels. Have you ever mentioned any of this with your doctor, for example? I'd like to see something like a specific symbol perhaps on your driver's license, or some sort of pre-check "code" that the cochlear implant travelers could enter online while purchasing their airline ticket, that would alert the TSA people that these travelers would need to be screened in a different, (yet respectable) manner. Just a thought . . .
actually, for them.. that is the "reasonable" screening process to anyone with implants.. a pat down.

you know what's the funny thing?
I get BETTER service/treatment when I arrive from Mexico to the US than when I have to enter the airports from the US to the international side.
I mean, the security rates and annoyances are 4x times worse when in the US side to fly locally.
I have no idea why, isn't their security supposed to stop outside attacks?

I do not need a driver license.. my implant is clearly visible.
I also have a small credit-card size with my implant information. Still, the "process" is to move me for a patdown out of the milimeter/shortwave scanner.

Wow. That sounded like a lousey day. Sounds like you're not quite ready yet for longer walks. Do you have taxis in your area, or are they not reliable and you'd have to wait too long for them to arrive? I hope you can rest your leg today. Sorry to hear that situation interfered with your medical recovery so far.
of course there are taxis, but since I have to cross the bridge from one state to the other.. the cost is 2x.
And I didn't have much cash in hand. Cabs do not have credit card machines here.

Hey, when did that plan change.:eek:

Florida still my goal. So very over Northern Illinois winters.

That last part is a lot of it...
We already don't experience harsh winters down here, so a move to Florida would kinda' be just a lateral move for us. ;) And, as crazy as this place can be sometimes, we do love us some Austin, Texas...!
We'll be just fine with doin' any kind of Disney trips we can over the next several years. :)
Plus, at this point anyway, I'm just not as enamored as I used to be about working for TWDC again.
But, who knows, that could all change again in the next 10-15 years.
Life is a dynamic thing. :)

Woof. Sympathy "like".
I'm not even gonna' delve into the car stuff, this time.
Just too much conflicting info from mechanics.

Morning. Yes, it is morning; it's about 10:30.

Went to bed at 9 pm last night. Woke up at 9 am. I no longer feel like a zombie, and I am on Hawaiian time.

Decided to go for a walk.

One of the pools.

And they have shops galore here. More than any Disney resort.

Including this:

And for the second time in my life, I walked in and actually bought something.

Chai Tea Latte. Yum.

Then, after eating the banana, I walked around a bit more.

Ducklings.

Turtles.

There's also poi in there, but I didn't get a good photo.

Now I'm finishing my tea on the balcony

OMG, that looks gorgeous there! I always love the aquamarine ocean colors in places like Hawaii and Bermuda, for example. Your view is spectacular; I mean, you could have been drinking a plain cup of water and you'd still be surrounded in paradise!! Can't wait to follow your adventures during your vacation and see more of your wonderful pictures! :cat:
