We don't have a Ruth's Chris, we have the Keg. Not in the same league, but a pretty decent steak can be had.

Crab cakes for me.

Yucky calamari for Mike.

Pecan goat cheese steak for me.
I ordered medium well, but this baby was delivered well done. Not bad, but a few minutes less on the grill would have been better.

And dessert. Sorry, I had already had a tiny bite before I took this pic:

Billy Miner Pie. Coffee flavoured ice cream, cookie crust, toasted almonds, ooey-gooey sauce. Very good, but I only ate the two slivers you see missing.
I see you had a very good time, good for you.

Apparently, they don't say much about it here either. Sometimes when I'm waiting for the morning bus, I see the kids walking up to the local high school. I'm far from a prude, but heck, I'm shocked at some of the clothes these kids wear to school??!! :jawdrop: I'm surprised some of them don't get sent back home to change into something else a little more appropriate.

We had a dress code (and it was a basic, neat and presentable code--nothing revealing, torn, or with any offensive words on it) in our schools when I was growing up. It was enforced. But a little more to my point here: none of us would have been let out of the house in the morning dressed like some of these kids. That's the part that gets to me: why aren't their parents stopping them at the door, and telling them that certain items of clothing may be o.k. for the beach, but not appropriate for school??
We had a dress code too. I remember some boys being sent home for not wearing socks, with their shoes. That was a little overboard.:)

I wish I knew where the old pictures were of my parents who went to WDW, back in the early days. I recall they went with 2 other couples, and I remember they were all dressed up. (Nothing fancy, just "daytime" skirts, blouses, regular shoes, no sneakers, and the ladies all were carrying these full-sized pocketbooks). The men wore pressed slacks, no jeans or shorts, and pressed, collared shirts, and regular shoes, no sneakers. Looking at the people walking by them in the photos, it seemed like everyone dressed up for WDW back then! Guess is was the same out in Disneyland.

I am glad, however, that some of these standards have been relaxed, because it's so darn HOT down there. This past week, I couldn't even tolerate the sun and heat in the afternoons. I'd retreat indoors for 3-4 hours every day, so that I wouldn't pass out. Yes, I drank a lot of water, but I just couldn't handle the extreme heat.
That happens to me too. I just take time to read, or go to a nice lobby, and read.

Brilliant, yes. Amazing, yes. But too distracting. I can't imagine actually being there turning your head to look at fireworks and then to the buildings. No "story" in the Disney sense. However, the best parts are Tangled and the Lion King. I can't imagine them doing that with the amount of people that go. Bottleneck at Main Street.

Just finished watchin' this with DWifey...
Absolutely FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Thanks for sharin'...!!! :)

BTW...
We're also watchin' "Walt Disney World Resort: Behind the Scenes" on TLC.
Yes, an older show, but, it's still about WDW...! ;) :)

I went see Tomorrowland today and I thought I'd give y'all my review of it. Don't worry I won't give any spoilers. When I first heard about the movie I was really excited about it and had high expectations. However, when the trailers came out for it my expectations plummeted. The Japanese trailer gave me some hope for the film but I honestly went into the theatre today with very low expectations. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the film. I actually thought Tomorrowland was fantastic and I will be purchasing it when it comes out on Blue-ray.

The film was far from perfect and I can think of several ways it could have been better. I was very disappointed that mentions of Walt (as seen in the Japanese trailer) were cut from the film but I honestly wasn't surprised. Overall, I found the film very entertaining and I am highly recommending it. I also really enjoyed and appreciated the message of the film. We need to get back to the optimism of the past and start dreaming about great big beautiful tomorrows again rather than resigning ourselves to a dystopian future. The attitude that we can't make the world a better place will be a self-fulfilling prophesy. It's time to dream big again. I find the theme of the film ironic given the current state of Disney, but I'm gonna give Disney lot of credit for actually making the film.

Given the horrible marketing the film has received I don't expect it to do well but I really hope to be proven wrong. It's a big thumbs up for me.

I just thought I'd add that I'm not a big George Clooney fan but I thought he did a really good job in Tomorrowland.

I'm still really surprised by how much I liked the movie. If you get a chance go see it and support it's message of optimism. We just don't get much of that anymore.

:hilarious: Think we've all done something similar, which begs the question: if we've all done that, and all gotten clean, are all these products the exact same soap, but just packaged in different, spiffy-looking containers?! o_O

Hahaaa...!!! :hilarious: I thought same!
When I used to go on those backpacking trips back in the day, I took along just this one small bottle of organic, green-colored, soap. You could use it for anything, including brushing your teeth. :)

I saw this for the first time, just the other day. It was the usual sort of very hot afternoon, and I decided to sit on a bench on the porch, in front of City Hall. All of a sudden I saw a band march out from under the Main Street USA train station, and some military people and police all gather around the flag pole. It was a lovely ceremony, and I was glad I got to see that. It's one of those really nice touches that WDW adds to the guest experience, and sets WDW apart from all other theme parks, IMO. :)

We've seen it a coupla' times before. We love it.
Glad you were able to see it this time, as well...! :)
