Oh my. Sympathy "like" all the way around.

Skateboarding was really big when we went back to No Cal for vacation in the summer of '78. We made a day-long side trip to a town on the coast where my mothers cousin lived (Watsonville - hit very hard by the '89 Loma Prieta Quake). One of our old neighbors and his and my skateboards came along, too. They had some really great hilly streets to fly down on those babies. The last one we started to do had quite the view from the top, and was a bit more intimidating than anything we had done, so far. I bailed, on my feet, shortly after we started the run 'cause I had "a bad feeling about this". As I watched my friend pick up more and more speed and get closer to the bottom he got the speed wobbles and was tossed. I thought we was dead.
Good Lord was he a mess when I got down to him. But, no broken bones and he was conscious.
I helped him back to my moms cousins house where the adults checked him out and dressed his wounds.
Needless to say, the visit was cut a little short as we wanted to get him back to his folks. When we got his totaled behind back home his pop was laughin' his a$$ off...!!! :joyfull:
He, on the other hand, and his mother, were not amused... :bored: ;)
The next day when we went over to check on him, for some reason, he thought it would be great idea if we all went swimming in their pool. Not so much...he was in so much agony, we had to drag 'im out. :in pain:

Likely not, unless she's drugged up, but, hope Gen is feelin' at least a little better.
The "wobbles". That's exactly what Ski called it!

My great niece who is visiting from Alaska. I treated her to a shopping spree at the Disney store.

View attachment 92304 This Is cool. Maybe we can go back and do one of these but I don't want to spend anymore money.

Cool, and so sweet of you! :)

Hahaaa...!
And yes, the daily events board. We had so much fun with our Guests at those...! :)

Only when backing out? I think you made a reference to the transmission in one of your earlier posts, so if some of the exhaust system was bent out of place, it sounds like the way things torqued when it was put in reverse might have put the transmission and exhaust system in contact with each other to make the noise...?
Anyway, I'm gonna' stop tryin' to looooong distance troubleshoot this problem, especially since it's already been fixed...!!! :joyfull: :hilarious: ;) :)
I am ok with you helping me out.
As I know nothing of cars. I just drive them and try to keep them maintained.
still.. frustrated how every mechanic claims its a different thing.

My goodness--your family numbers are enormous!!! I notice everyone has hats on -- is there a dress code when you all get together? o_O :D

Yes, one big happy family...! ;)

And yes, there is always a dress code. Although I missed last years spring event to Top Golf 'cause I covered a closing shift at the clothing store, here was my teams dress code for our trendy South Congress Ave. scavenger hunt the year before. We were either cowboys, hippies, hipsters, or techies.
Can you guess what team I was on...?

Not my daughter. My son's girlfriend, whom I've know for more than a dozen years.
Apparently she came here after her wipe out because she knew her mom would over-react, but I could be trusted to deal with the situation calmly.

Blood and boo boos don't phase me.
Afterall, I have gauze and Bactine. :hilarious:
Sorry Jennifer, I'm not able to process what I read as well as I should have. Anyway, you are so sweet to take care of Gen. Are you a nurse? Or like my sister...nothing phases her. She got the genes that passed me by. sadly, I'm an old softie and always will be...except when you get my "dander" up. Like my dad I have a long fuse, but once I get going, it's hard to shut me up. To anyone in this blog I apologize, I'm trying to "stay in my box", as my more seasoned husband says. Wise words of wisdom, being in my parent's home and children were to be quiet, and not heard from. I'm letting it all out now. Better, late than never. Or maybe not. Sorry

I spray Bactine on just about every bite, cut or scrape I get. Sunburn too.
Once it has dried, I either re-apply or switch to Polysporin.

I don't jump around, flinch, and act like a fool like some people ... looking at you Hubby.
Plus the smell takes me back to my childhood. (Just the scent of Bactine tells my boo boo it's better.) Bactine and Ozonol cured everything back then.

And Noxzema. Forgot about Noxzema.
I was about to imagine you saying how Windex cured everything :hilarious:

I wonder if anyone gets the reference.

That 43" TV currently in our family room came from our bedroom. I don't miss it all.
At one point, we had 4 people living here ... and 7 TVs. That's crazy.
Now it's 5 and 5 ... until we get that 65" TV. We had been looking at 70" and 80", but our new stand only accomodates up to 65". Yep, just saved me more than $2K.
you're smart!

its hard to convince a Man to get the smaller TV.

by using technicalities about safety and max load.. you cut him down well ;)

My pop, as active as he is, still uses plenty of Epsom Salt. :)
I use it too. It has a lot of magnesium in it. I learned early it was good for most anything. My greatgrandmother used all kinds of herbs and potions, herbs to heal most things. Sadly that information was lost when she passed. Mom told me all about her, people came from counties around to have her "help" their ailments. Probably no more than cuts, scrapes, sore throats, colds, etc. Nothing complicated. I do remember Mom told me that elderberry wine helped with the flu. I wouldn't use it, as we have these super bugs today. ;)

Hello,

Still preparing for finals, but I need a break because I'm drained.

Chorus concert went well last night. Group project for Spanish is almost done. The other two group members will meet, record their section, and they will mesh their sections. I might have to print the script, though. My group member came over to my school so that we could record our section and I could still make it to my concert in time. We discovered that while I do not have to pay to print at school (we get a $15 printing allowance per month; you can add more money if you need it. I've never gotten anywhere near using it all), they do, so I may print it so it doesn't cost them. But at least that's one thing out of the way.

Have not pulled out my laptop at all since getting my new tablet. Although got frustrated with it yesterday when it insisted on installing updates right then. And then it said, "Cannot complete updates, undo..." Two hours later, it did just that. :banghead: More like a Windows 8 issue than an issue with the device though. This is now the fourth Windows 8 computer we've had, and I've had other ones do the exact same thing. Hopefully this gets solved with Windows 10.

Hope everyone is well!
