That much I will agree with. I bought my first new car in 1971. A brand new Buick Skylark... $3100.00. Still had to finance it for 3 years so I guess everything is fairly relative. Two other great things happened in the 70's for me as well. Both my Daughters were born in the middle of that decade. Other then that if they were to rip it completely out of history, I wouldn't be upset.I would love the prices in those days to come back too. I shopped at a shoe store in Indianapolis, and paid 3.00$ for a very nice pair of shoes.
Going back in time, my sister and brother went to school in a one room school house. In a place called Walesboro, Ind. I came along 1 1/2 years later. Just an aside. Thanks for posting these pics. All of ours were destroyed in a flood in Kansas City
I would love that, its always fun to see the original Magic Kingdom. That's sad. My Grandfather gave me the photos he took when he went to Disneyland in 1967. I need to scan them and post them here.
My sister had a Chrysler, convertible, we had so much fun parking in the infield, at the Indy 500. Boy did people know how to party at the race track. Good thing my Mom didn't know what was going on, or that would have been the end of us going. That much I will agree with. I bought my first new car in 1971. A brand new Buick Skylark... $3100.00. The 60's were a confusing and dangerous time for those of us coming of age, but, no one will ever say they were dull. The 70's, on the other hand... yawn! The 50's were like living in a nursing home. The only cool thing I remember from that were the N.Y. Yankee's and two toned cars. (More accurately described as land yachts.)
NIGHT!S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y...
Reminds me of the time a few of my friends an I snuck into the city and went to Studio 54. Spent most of the night just people watching. What a freak show.

Yes, to no seat belts. Boy, I like reliving the "good" old days. I loved the 50's and 60's, and rock and roll. One of the best things about that car was how many people you could cram in it. Friday night at the drive in was $4 a car load. We'd all meet up at the mall across the street cram into my car. No seatbelt laws back then.![]()
