Our Dairy Queen opened 2 weeks ago. My DD brought me home a Double hot fudge sundae, no nuts obviously or whip cream. It was lunch and dinner. Worth it.

I was blessed the vast majority of my life, I weighed 98 pounds even 6 weeks after my kids were born and released from hospital after birth wearing normal people clothes and I had a 9# kid. Then I hit 40.dumtadumta
After rising from a size 6 upwards I had to take some control for the first time in my life over what I put in my mouth. Portions was really the key. Eating the good stuff but just in smaller amounts. And if I pig out at one meal I watch the next meal. I'm betting this Sunday will be my exception though. Oy, but slurp.
98 doesn't work well for me either. I remember way back when a long time ago I get the flu and went down to about 105 and for about a month after (that's how long it took to get back to normal) a few of my friends kept asking me if I was eating and they worried I went anorexic. I worry more about the size of my jeans.

I saw that one really funny!I enjoy April Fools Day if that makes you feel any better. My DS sent me a text from work before I even got up for the official renaming of Cinderella Castle to Frozen Castle. And yes it was plausibly something Disney would do so it took to the count of 5 for me to think April 1st.

I don't think Thanksgiving has been shut down anywhere for quite a few years. Black Friday shouldn't start before 3am!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Surprisingly, I don't actually like Peeps.
Ha! Many people don't like them either, but it's just one of those ridiculous "traditions" and each year I try to buy them in hideous, goofy colors like bright blue, purple, green, etc. Someone told me recently that they thought they even saw orange this year??!!

I don't understand their policies either, but the not eating meat rule only applies to Catholics for the Fridays in Lent. So maybe their business practices cater to the many other Christians (on Good Friday), for whom the meat ban doesn't apply.

My favorite are the little chocolate eggs wrapped multicolored foil. And I used to get a stuff animal every year when I was little from the Easter bunny.
Yes, I love those solid chocolate little eggs in foil, too!
Your Easter basket sounds just like mine when I was little--my mom always put in a stuffed rabbit or chickie for me!! I remember hardly sleeping the night before Easter, as I knew the Easter Bunny would be tip-toeing in (paw-toeing in?? 
) with a wonderful basket of goodies. It practically matched the excitement of Christmas morning after Santa left me gifts, too! Ah . . . fond memories . . .

Ew . . . my father used to LOVE anchovies, but I always thought they were salty and just vile. Must be an acquired taste??

This was what I looked out my window at, the bay is beyond beautiful. I was in the building in a suite right next to the white tower overlooking the bay.
While the parks and CityWalks food prices are what I have come to expect, dining at this resort was very very expensive even for the simple things. We learned for the most part to get coffee, juice and bagels at the store which is just off the left of this photo and have breakfast at the tables around the bay in the morning and dine at CityWalk or in the Parks. When I stay here my food is comp'd as I am on a convention, the family is out of pocket.
That is a beautiful view. I really enjoy high-end hotels, because it's so nice to have a break from the day to day routine of average living, working with a budget, cutting coupons for the grocery store each week, etc. Through the years, I've often cut the number of vacation days at a destination, just so I could stay in a beautiful hotel for a few days. As you mentioned, when staying at an expensive hotel, you can find some workarounds such as finding cheaper breakfast take-out, even just a block away from the pricier hotel restaurants. At least that helps a little bit . . .

I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to go up to him after church, while he's walking toward his car. Just haven't got up the guts yet to do it. Then I think that he obviously wants the attention--I mean, who the heck dresses that way all time??!! Oh, he looks like he's in his late 50s/early 60s, by the way.

While when we were in the city we were northsiders my Dad when down on the southside he come home with a brown paper bag stuffed with the bestest fried shrimp. They were lovely, huge and real crunchy breading. This place was a real hole in the wall but they sure knew how to fry shrimp.
Yes, those hole in the wall places are the best!!!
Good food and familiar faces--reminds me of a dinky little sandwich shop that was called, "The Hole in the Wall" because it was exactly the same type of setup you showed in your pix. (Except there was no seating--there literally was only a hole in the wall!! It was all take-out.) They did a great job and it was a huge draw with all the movers and shakers, as well as every other kind of worker and "locals", in the city's financial district at lunch time. (They were only open at lunch.) Then, years later, a developer bought the property and fancier high-rise buildings went up. RIP, little sandwich shop.

During the fall months in the town I grew up in, it was not at all uncommon for the fathers on the street to be out at the curbside burning piles of leaves, they had just raked up from their lawns. (What strikes me even funnier about this years later, is that I never once saw any of the mothers doing this--it was a "fathers only" thing to burn the leaves.
) Anyway, on a typical fall Saturday, the smoke from all these fires would waft up and down the street; and as kids, we used to love to run through the sometimes dense smoke clouds (seriously, you can't make up this stuff!
) and I used to love the smell of burning leaves! (Note: There were a few near misses with cars that would be driving down the street, because they couldn't see us! ) Then, when I was maybe 10 years old, the town council voted to stop the leaf-burning ritual each fall, because they felt it contributed to air pollution. Luckily by that time, I had outgrown the thrill of running through smoke clouds into oncoming traffic!
