IKEA has a lot of those rugs in many shapes and retro colors. Reasonable. My DD has the Multi-color hot pink area rug in her room.
How cool are these fabrics? They have a real IKEA vibe to them. I could so make drapes out of these!

Sadly, these are just ladies medium sized underwear, so unless they're drapes for Barbie's Malibu beach house ... probably ain't happening. :joyfull:

Are you doing anything over your break?
No, I just want a quiet break at home, lots of sleep. A lot of kids go away from break, but I was just away twice over winter break and I'll be away four weeks over the summer, so I really just want to rest, catch up on homework, sleep...

Actually, I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself and will probably drive my mother crazy by the end of the week. It's just kind of like, "Whoops, it's here," and I haven't a clue what I want to do with all that free time. Maybe go ice skating one day. That's about all I have planned so far. Depends on which friends are free and feel like doing stuff.

Sometimes I think about starting my master's...and then I wonder if I've gone crazy.

AP teachers could be the worst. AP Spanish and World History were definitely the worst. I think my AP Spanish teacher from Spanish 6 traumatized me from Spanish, because I'm always expecting a pop quiz or something really hard in 300-level Spanish...and then it never comes. Still a lot of work. But then the other day, I went on my old old laptop (the one that didn't have a failed hard drive) and tracked down a list of writing phrases from Spanish 6 to help me write a paper...so I guess I owe that teacher. Also since I did get a 4 on the AP. And since I could skip to Spanish Comp 2 and skip Spanish Comp 1 thanks to the AP score.

And then there was AP World History. Note: high school sophomores should never take AP World History. They need to start out with another AP class because that class is ridiculous. That teacher was a work-load monster. We had so much work in that class. The history/science class I took last semester was not that much work. Interestingly, both she and Spanish teacher are AP graders, so I guess they put that much more pressure on us to succeed (even though it did give us an advantage on the test having teachers with that knowledge.) I, thankfully, got a 4 on that exam, even though my father was convinced I would get a 2 or 3 on it after getting a C one quarter in the class.

AP English was the exception. My Junior year, I had an English teacher who assigned a lot of work (though not as much as World HIstory), gave us a lot of AP practice, and made us work very hard. That was the only exam I did not get a 4 or 5 on. My senior year, the teacher barely made us work, barely gave us any practice, I mean, we barely did anything. What did I get on the AP Literature exam that year? A four.:banghead: I credit my sophomore year English teacher (who was also my Journalism teacher and wrote all of my letters of recommendation) for that because I learned nothing in Senior year English.

The AP class that I liked the most, and perhaps benefited the most from, was AP Economics. That prepared me most for what I would see in business classes. In accounting last semester, there was something he was showing us, and I though, "Oh, this is a repeat from Econ" and had the problem done within three minutes...then spent the next 10 minutes explaining it. The teacher, honestly, wasn't that good, but thankfully, a second teacher taught that class, and I went to his review sessions. I studied hard, read the book, practiced the graphs, and worked my behind off. I got a 4 on Macro and a 5 on Micro. As I was sitting there taking the micro exam, I kept thinking, "Um, this is too easy; I better get a 5 on this." Fortunately, I did.:D

I must say, all of those AP classes did prepare me for college. The 15 credits I got from them didn't hurt either. I just think it's important to not take too many of them and burn yourself out. I think I probably benefited more from taking fewer AP classes and not burning out as much than my classmates who took AP this and AP that and just did nothing but study all of the time.

But no, I don't miss high school. Not one bit. Much as I sometimes curse out college, I don't miss high school at all.

My DD had a teacher for 2 years in high school for AP Calc 2 and Statistics that was amazing. She wanted them to succeed. DD took AP World History the summer before her freshman year of High School, funny how that varies from state to state.- That man was pure evil. She would work easily 6 hours a day on that one and only class. Twice she missed Swim Meets at the 11th hour cause of Homework load. Her Summer Club Coach was also her high school coach so he knew how evil the twit was and cut her lots of slack.

My DD looking back at the teachers attitudes and then the courses she had to retake at her University (cause they would not take AP credits in your Major or Minor) the work load was substantially less in college over high school and better content in college. If she had to do it over again the only AP courses she would have taken in High School would have been her Math and Statistic classes cause they were the reason she scored so high in math and statistics on her ACT and SATs.

I'm not set to bond with this car. Ever, it seems. Seriously, I think my mom was more upset over the damage to that car than I was. I was just irritated. I've been in a really bad mood ever since.

It was the car I had the accident in when I was 17. Six months after getting my license. And now this, a week after getting it. I don't think we'll ever bond the way I bonded with my first car. At least it will get a brand new battery. And it will get run through the car wash, which it was filthy from road salt and snow. I'm still mad that the guy broke my ignition.:banghead:

I really miss my old car. It was the first car I ever rode in the front seat of, ever drove, had to love and take care of...darn I miss that car. It was such fun to drive the Jackrabbit. I miss it.:(

I feel your pain. I still mourn the loss of my Mustang.

So get that. 2 weeks Hawaii? 2 weeks WDW?

IKEA has a great fabric department and also their sheets are great hunks of material for other projects like drapes.

What the heck. I have received 3 different Amber alerts in the last hour or so and one is for Florida!!! the other two here. I pay even closer attention since they sent a Silver Alert out for my MIL several months ago.

Then I got 3 texts about flash flood warnings.

She said that at 18 (which is what I was at the time) I should never have a pulsox that low. Especially after nebs at home. My peak flow was also 100 (my normal is 400), so I'm guessing she was right.

I can be really bad and my pulsox will still be at 97 or 98. 94 is practically unheard of for me. But I don't want to know what it was when I got in the ambulance three weeks ago and they gave me oxygen, though it was up to 99% after they gave me the neb at the hospital. Then they gave me the heliox to get my peak flow up more.

Although, why on Earth do they keep those horrible flat peak flow meters at the ER? I have a good, round tipped peak flow meter here at home. If I go to the ER straight from home, I always take my own meter, because yeesh. RT came in with a meter when I was in the ER. He asked what my normal peak flow was, and I said 400. He said, "Well, let's see if we can get it up there." I told him I could probably stick my tongue in there and get it up to 400. It was really about 230 ish.
I hate the flat peak flow meters too.

Care to say any of that in english? I have no idea what you have just said, but, now I'm scared! :jawdrop:
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. When you have COPD you do not want the spo2 to be too high because it will shut off the area in you brain that tells you to breathe essentially. If you have copd, the only way to know is with a PFT, you want to be followed by a pulmonologist so they can teach you these things. Your treatment would differ from an asthmatic.

Are you watching the remake (I heard a new one was being made), or are you watching the original Twin Peaks series from years ago? The original series was so twisted and cool. Oh, I heard that Kyle McClanahan might also have a part in the remake of Twin Peaks, but I don't know what the extent is of the role or if it's a cameo only, for example. I don't keep up with tv too often, but I did hear something about this fairly recently.
I'm watching the original, I love it. When is the remake coming out? I'm excited for that. Yea I'm binge watching it. I think I have 7 more episodes to go.

Inhalers are fine and dandy for those with mild to moderate asthma. I, unfortunately, have severe asthma. When my pediatrician diagnosed me (which it was amazing she even picked up on it; a lot of doctors miss cough-variant asthma), she immediately gave me an inhaler but also made me get a nebulizer. It was a good thing too. The year after I was diagnosed, I had two bouts of bronchitis, one of which turned into pneumonia. When I was in elementary school, I could pretty much function off an inhaler, and if I needed a neb, Mom was 2 minutes away and she could bring it. By the time I was in middle school, I had nebs at school, but my asthma went from being cough variant to being more textbook, so it was different. An inhaler only works for me if it's 1. Just a controller or 2. I'm only having mild symptoms. Since I routinely go down to about 50-70% of my personal best, an inhaler a lot of times just doesn't cut it unfortunately. Every asthmatic should have an inhaler, but inhalers alone don't work for every asthmatic unfortunately. I do think nebulizers are a good thing even for moderate asthma sufferers to have. If you get sick, they're just so much more effective than inhalers.

I also put two medications in my nebulizer, albuterol and pulmicort. I don't ever do just albuterol nebs; for some reason, the two medications combined make the difference.
Pulmicort is used twice a day when as albuterol can be used every two hours if needed.
