I didn't notice on that thread. But thanks for pointing it out; the first two pages were hysterical. No on other threads. I was looking at the Shocked By All the Hate thread and some avatars are blank.

@MinnieM123 These are Buckeyes. Peanut butter no bake cookie balls dipped in chocolate that look like buckeyes.

I've largely stayed out of this discussion, but I don't really think anyone was implying that. College works for some people and not for others. Personally, I've got a huge scholarship, my parents are footing the rest of the bill, and there really wasn't anything else (like a trade school) that I wanted to do, so college gives me the opportunity to explore my options, and when I graduate, I will have zero debt.I hope no one is equating how important a person is based on their profession or education.
Yeah I just wanted to make sure anything I had said in the discussion wasn't construed in anyway that might offend others.I've largely stayed out of this discussion, but I don't really think anyone was implying that. For others, college may not work for a multitude of reasons: financial, a desire to enter the workforce without being in school terribly long, or other, personal reasons. And no, college is not a measure of intelligence. I know a lot of kids who are in college and really should not be there. Another personal example: I've got one friend who hated school and wanted out of there as quickly as possible. His grades were only ever average, and he never took the higher classes in high school like some of my other friends and I did. But he's also a musical genius. Taught himself how to play piano and plays completely by ear. He's played half as long as I have and is ten times better. He isn't in college. Instead, he got an HVAC certification and is working while pursuing a music career.
It's a good option that works for a lot of people. It's not the only option and may not work for everyone.
You DD friend might change her mind since the national trend is that all nurses have a bachelor's.

Well, that's what I said, eh! Do you think you are more intelligent then me just because you used the word "innate".Intelligence is innate.
Why do my kids care whether I'm dressed or not at 4:00 in the afternoon?
Since getting up, I have:
- cleaned the disaster that was my kitchen (which was spotless when I went to bed, BTW)
- loaded, run, and unloaded the dishwasher
- got them up for work, and made their lunch
- made my bed (obvi!)
- made Hubby happy
- did 6! loads of laundry (5 of which was theirs)
- fed the animals
- endured 4 phone calls and 1 visit from my crazy-a$$ brother
- discussed intelligence/education/careers with my Peeps
- liquidated and closed my farm (permanently this time)![]()
TMIYes. My jobs have been all lesser jobs where my degree has been worthless so far.
P.S = Common Sense is a rare quality nowadays.
PSS - My college wrote me asking for money. I wrote back saying give me a job and I'll think about it. Probably shouldn't have but it was worth it.
PSSS - I didn't know how to do the multi-spoiler thing
Nope, just proving I have some edumacation.Do you think you are more intelligent then me just because you used the word "innate".![]()

TMI
Do you think he will go the way of trade school or college?
Intelligence is innate.
Depends on what situation they are in.I've known plenty of people over the years with tons of book sense, but, not one lick of common sense. Who's more intelligent...?![]()
